The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) is the official body who will conduct the Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test 2020 (JKCET 2020). This exam is organized to screen the eligible candidates for the admission to BE/B.Tech (Engineering) courses in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The application form for the JKCET 2020 exam is available from 12th March 2020.

The exam will be organized at the center specified by the board in the cities of Jammu and Srinagar only. The candidates aspiring to appear for JKCET 2020 can check all the important details such as exam pattern, syllabus, admit card etc. from this article.

JKCET Eligibility Criteria 2020

The eligibility criteria for JKCET 2020 exam is illustrated below:

  • The candidate must be a permanent resident of Jammu and Kashmir as defined in section 6 of the J&K constitution.
  • The age of an applicant should be at least 17 years as on 31st December 2020. There is no upper age limit.
  • The applicant must have passed 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English subjects.

Note: The candidate who will appear in 10+2 exam in the year 2020 can also apply.

JKCET Application Form 2020

The application form for JKCET 2020 exam will be submitted online through the official website of BOPEE i.e. www.jakopee.org. The candidates have to provide all the mandatory academic and personal details in the application form. It is advised that the aspirants should check the eligibility criteria carefully before submitting the online application form. The aspiring candidates have to upload the scanned copies of recent passport size photograph, signature and thumb impression on the application form.

After submitting the application form, the candidates should keep a printout of duly filled application form for future reference.

JKCET Application Fee 2020

The application fee for JKCET 2020 will be Rs. 800/- for every candidate to be paid online by using any national credit card or debit card.

The details about JKCET 2020 exam pattern are as follows:

  6. Marking scheme: Each question will carry 1 mark and there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for an incorrect answer.

Physics: Physical World And Measurement, Kinematics, Laws Of Motion, Work, Energy And Power, Motion Of System Of Particles And Rigid Body, Gravitation, Properties Of Bulk Matter, Thermodynamics, Behaviors Of Perfect Gas And Kinetic Theory, Oscillations And Waves, Electrostatics,  Current Electricity , Magnetic Effects Of Current And Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction And Alt. Currents, Electromagnetic Waves,  Optics,  Electronic Devices etc.

Chemistry: Chemical Arithmetic & Atomic Structure, Chemical Equilibrium, Chemical Kinetics, Solutions, Chemical Thermodynamics, Redox Reactions And Electrochemistry,  Solid State & States Of Matter, Surface Chemistry, Periodic Properties, Chemical Bonding And Molecular Structure, Chemistry Of Representative Elements, Transition Elements Including Lanthanoides etc.

JKCET Preparation Strategy 2020

Generally, the cutoff marks for JKCET exam is not that high but in order to get a good college you need to prepare well. The aspirants may follow the tips mentioned below to score good marks in the JKCET 2020 exam.

JKCET Admit Card 2020

The applicants can download the admit card from the official website in the second week of April 2020 tentatively. The candidate, who does not have the internet, can avail this facility at the Help desk of BOPEE’s IT section by taking an appointment on telephone. All the important information regarding the JKCET 2020 exam such as exam date, venue will be mentioned on the admit card. No candidate will be permitted at the examination center without an admit card.

JKCET Result 2020

The result of JKCET 2020 exam will be declared on the two local dailies and on the official website of the board. Along with the result, the merit list will also be published. Candidates, please note that if the entrance exam is not conducted then the merit list will be based on the Qualifying exam marks. The board will also release answer keys most probably on the day to exam itself so that the candidates can match their answers.

JKCET Counselling 2020

The counselling of JKCET 2020 will be organized in both online and physical mode. In online mode the qualified candidates have to fill the preference form online, while in physical counselling the candidates have to fill offline preference form. To appear for the counseling process, the candidates will be required to pay a counseling fee of Rs. 1200/-. The allotment of seats will be done only after the verification of documents on the basis of marks scored by the candidates in entrance exam.
