The Indira Gandhi National Open University offers admission to the candidates in Master’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma and Certificate programmes. The process of IGNOU Admission 2021 will start with the release of application forms by the university. The application form for different courses will be released separately. The admissions into some courses will be offered on the basis of entrance test and rest others on the basis of merit in qualifying exam. IGNOU Exam Pattern 2021

The exam pattern for a different entrance test organized by IGNOU will be different. The duration, number of questions, total marks, marking scheme, etc. all varies from one course to another. The pattern for the B.Ed and MBA entrance exam conducted by IGNOU is given below:

IGNOU 2021 Application Form 

For the different programs offered by IGNOU, the mode of application form filling and submitting will be different. The IGNOU Admission 2021 application form for some courses will be available online on the official website, while for some other courses, it can be obtained offline from the regional center offices. The candidates will have to provide their personal and educational details into the application form. In the online form, the candidate will also have to upload the scanned copies of the required documents. After providing all the details in the application form, it will be submitted along with the requisite application fee. The application fee will vary from one course to another.

Eligibility Criteria for courses offered by IGNOU

The eligibility criteria for some IGNOU courses are given below. The detailed criteria for all the courses can be found on the official website.

• MCA: The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 year duration from a recognized University and Mathematics as one of the subject at 10+2 level or graduation level.
• MBA: Any graduate (including Chartered Accountancy/ Cost Accountancy/ Company Secretaryship) with 50% marks (45% for reserved category) can apply for OPENMAT.
• Bachelor of Arts in Tourism Studies (BTS): 10+2 or its equivalent or BPP from IGNOU is required for admission in BTS.
• BCA: The applicants who have passed their 10+2 or equivalent exam are eligible.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development (PGDRD): The candidate must have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
• Post Graduate Diploma in International Business Operations (PGDIBO): Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline or equivalent is mandatory.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Analytical Chemistry (PGDAC): The candidates with Graduation in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects (including B. Pharma) are eligible.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine: The applicant should hold an MBBS degree.
• Certificate in Tourism Studies: A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent or BPP from IGNOU is required.
• Certificate in Rural Development (CRD): Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline in mandatory.

IGNOU Admission Process 

The admission into the different courses offered by IGNOU will be provided either on the basis of entrance test or as per the merit of the qualifying exam (depending on the course). A list of the candidates will be prepared according to their merit and they will be invited for counseling and admission process. The detailed information related to this will be communicated by the concerned regional center.

Admit Card

The admit card for the programmes for which entrance exam is to be conducted will be released on the official website of the university. The candidates will be able to download their admit card by entering their enrolment number and date of birth. The admit card will consist the details of the exam center such as venue, date and time. The candidate must carry their admit card to the exam center otherwise they will not be allowed to appear for the entrance test.

Result

The result of the entrance exam will be announced in online mode on the official university website. The applicants will be able to check the result by providing their roll number, date of birth, etc. Based upon the marks scored in the entrance test, a merit list of the candidates will be prepared. Admissions will be granted strictly on the basis of the merit list.
