National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) is an autonomous educational institution working under the ministry of HRD Govt. of India.  NIT Silchar was established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College in Assam, later it was changed to National Institute of Technology.  National Institute of Technology is offering courses in various programmes like B.Tech, M.Tech, and MBA. Admissions to these programs are on basis of scores of the candidates from various national level examinations such as JEE main, JEE advanced, GATE, and more. Few seats are separated for the candidates from SC/ST and NRI students. The seats offering the NRI candidates are through an independent scheme known as Direct Admission for Students Abroad (DASA).

NIT Silchar B.Tech admission Procedure

Admission

 NIT Silchar is offering B.Tech courses to the disciplines of Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. A pass in Intermediate with at least 60% and a valid GATE score is enough for applying for B.Tech courses in NIT Silchar.

Eligibility

Admission of the candidates is offered on the basis of scores they acquired from the entrance examination and also on the basis of performance they shown in the face to face interview secession. NIT Silchar B.Tech admission Procedure

Eligibility

The Institute offers dual year long Degree of Master of Technology (M.Tech) to the candidates having 60% marks in B.E / B.Tech / M.Sc in relevant subject with a valid GATE score. Also, there are many other factors like candidates overall performance in Face to face interview, GATE marks & more.

Admission

On the basis of overall pass percentage in GATE exam, the institute prepares cut-off and it is enclosed with Opening and Closing ranks. NIT Silchar MBA Admission Procedure

Eligibility

NIT offers MBA courses since 2012. To get an admission in MBA at NIT Silchar, the candidate must having not less than 60% marks in any branch of engineering with valid CAT/MAT score. There shall be 5% negotiation can expect by the candidates belonging to SC/ST tribes.
