Mother Teresa Women’s University is the nodal SET Agency for Tamil Nadu that holds the responsibility of conducting the TNSET 2023 examination. It is a state entrance exam to be conducted to determine the eligibility criteria to choose the candidates for the posts of Assistant Professors in Universities/ Colleges/ Institute in the state of Tamil Nadu. TNSET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must meet the eligibility criteria given below in order to apply for the TNSET 2023 examination.
- Aspirants must have a PG degree or equivalent from a university/ institutes recognized by UGC New Delhi with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates).
- The PG degree of the candidate should be in subjects like Science, Humanities (including languages), Social Science, Computer Science & Application, Electronic Sciences, and library & Information Sciences (as per the subject selected by applicants)
- Those who are going to appear for the final year exam of the master’s degree are also eligible.
TNSET 2023 Application Form
The application form of TNSET 2023 examination will release online through the official website of the university. Those candidates who are eligible should check the complete application instructions given below before applying.
- To initiate the application process, candidates have to visit the official website and begin the registration process.
- In the application form, aspirants have to fill and submit all the necessary educational, personal, and contact details.
- The details entered in the application form should be correct otherwise the candidature of the applicant might get rejected.
- Apart from the details, candidates have to upload the scanned images of the following documents.
- Passport size photograph in JPG format
- Signature of the candidate in JPG format
- Income certificate, community certificate, and PwD certificate
- The confirmation page will be generated after the submission of the application form.
- There is no need to send a copy of the confirmation page to the university.

Mode of Payment: The application fee can be paid online using a credit card/ debit card/ net banking.
TNSET 2023 Admit Card
- The admit card/ hall ticket for the examination will be uploaded on the official website.
- The date, timing, and venue of the exam will be mentioned on the admit card.
- It is compulsory for all the candidates to carry a hard copy of the downloaded admit card.
- No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre without an admit card.
- Please note that the authorities will not send an admit card by post or courier.

TNSET 2023 Syllabus
The syllabus of TNSET 2023 examination is the same as the syllabus of UGC/ CSIR – NET. Aspirants, please note that the syllabus will be different for Paper I and Paper II as given below.
- Paper – I: The syllabus will be of general nature based on subjects like teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. This section is primarily designed to test reasoning ability, divergent thinking, comprehension and general awareness.
- Paper – II & Paper – III: The syllabus of paper – II and paper – III will be based on the subject chosen by the aspirants.
TNSET Result 2023
- The TNSET 2023 examination result will be declared in online mode.
- Those candidates who will clear the exam might also get notification by SMS on their registered mobile number.
- To check the result, candidates have to sign-in using their roll number and date of birth.
- Top 6% of the total candidates who will appear for the exam will be declared qualified for the post of Assistant Professor.
- The cutoff marks required in order to be successful in the examination are as follows.
- General / OBC (Creamy Layer) Category: 40% marks in aggregate
- OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/ SC/ ST/ PwD category: 35% marks in aggregate
