UPSC IES ISS 2023: Application Form (From 19 April), Registration, Eligibility, Exam Date

The Union public service commission (UPSC) is the respective authority responsible for conducting the Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service Examination 2023 or UPSC IES/ ISS 2023. The aim of this exam is to choose the candidates for the post of Indian Economic Service officers and Indian statistical service officers. In order to get recruited, candidates are required to clear the interview/ personality test after clearing the written exam. UPSC IES ISS 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Before starting the application process, the candidates must check the eligibility criteria given below.

Nationalities

The candidates with following nationalities are eligible.

  • A citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with an intention to permanently settle here.
  • An Indian origin person migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Srilanka or East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia and Zaire or from Vietnam.

Educational Qualification

For IES

  • The applicant must have a PG degree in Economics or Business Economics or Econometrics or Applied Economics from a university recognized by the state legislature in India or equivalent.

For ISS

  • The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in applied statistics or mathematics or statistics as one of the subjects.
  • The candidates having a master’s degree in applied statistics or mathematics or statistics from a recognized university can also apply.

Age Limit

  • As on 1st August 2023, the age of a candidate should be between 21 years and 30 years.

UPSC IES ISS 2023 Application Form

The candidates who are looking to apply for UPSC IES ISS need to fill and submit the online application form before the last date. Given below are the steps to apply for the exam in a convenient manner.

  • To initiate the application process, aspirants need to register on the official website i.e, www.upsc.gov.in
  • After registration the candidates may sign-in and fill the details in the application form.
  • While filling details in the application form, the candidates are required to enter their academic, personal, and contact details.
  • The details to be entered in the application form should be authentic. Otherwise, the form might get rejected.
  • Apart from the details, the applicants also need to upload the scanned images of their photograph and signature.
  • After submitting the form, the candidates are required to pay the necessary application fees.

Note: Once you are done with submitting the form and fees, you should take a printout of the form submitted and application fee receipt.

Application Fee

The application fees for the candidates of different categories are as follows-

  • Male candidates of general, OBC, and EWS categories – RS. 200/-
  • Female candidates/ SC/ ST/ persons with benchmark disability- NIL (Exempted from application fees)

Mode of Payment: The fee can be paid either in online or offline mode. In order to apply online, candidates can use a visa/ master/ RuPay/ credit/ debit card or internet banking. Those who are looking to pay offline can remit the fee in any branch of the state bank of India.

UPSC IES ISS 2023 Admit Card

  • Candidates who will submit the application form and fees before the last date will be able to download their admit card.
  • To download the admit card, candidates are required to visit the official website.
  • It is necessary to provide registration details in order to download the admit card.
  • Information about the examination schedule and venue will be mentioned on the admit card.
  • No candidate will be allowed to take the exam without a valid admit card.
  • Aspirants please note that it is also compulsory to carry a photo identity proof at the time of the exam.

  • Written Test – 1000 Marks
  • Interview/ Viva Voce – 200 Marks

The subject-wise syllabus of the UPSC IES ISS 2023 examination is given below.

  • General English: In this section, candidates are required to write essays in English language, there will also questions to check the candidate’s comprehension power.
  • General Studies: General knowledge, current affairs, Current events and their effects on everyday life, Indian polity, History, Geography, Constitution of India.

UPSC IES ISS 2023 Result

  • Those candidates who will appear for the examination will be able to check their results in online mode.
  • A direct link to check the result will be made available on the official website of the home page.
  • The result will be available in the form of a PDF file. To check the result, candidates have to search their name in the PDF file.
  • Shortlisted candidates will then have to submit their Detailed Application Form (DAF).
  • Authorities will then verify the documents at the time of Interview.
  • To download the interview letter, candidates  have to visit the official website of the UPSC
