The Staff Selection Commission conducts recruitment exam for the post of SI (Delhi Police and CAPF) and ASI in CISF annually. Candidates seeking a government job in armed police force need to fulfill the eligibility criteria to appear for the SSC CAPF exam. The eligibility criteria are certain conditions that must be met by every candidate who plans to appear for the exam.
It is necessary for a candidate to check if he/she fulfills the eligibility conditions laid down by the commission. An ineligible candidate won’t be allowed to take the exam. Nationality
A candidate should be a –
- Citizen of India, or
- Subject of Nepal, or
- Subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin(PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African Countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia, Zaire, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Note:
- Candidates from category 2, 3, 4 and 5 (mentioned above) will need to produce the certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.
- Candidates from Category 2, 3, 4 and 5 will be allowed to appear for the exam but for the offer of appointment, they will need to produce the certificate of eligibility issues by the Government of India.
Age Criteria
A candidate’s age must lie between 20-25 years as on 1st August 2021 (I.e. the candidate must not have born before 2nd August 1996 and not later than 1st August 2001).
Note: Candidates must keep in mind that the commission will only accept the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate.
Educational Qualification
As per the SSC CAPF Eligibility criteria 2021, a candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline or its equivalent from a recognized university/institute.
Note:
- For the post of SI in Delhi Police, candidates must possess a valid driving license for LMV (Motorcycle & Car). Those who don’t possess the driving license can apply for other posts in CAPFs.
- Candidates who have finished their bachelor’s degree from open/distance learning are also eligible to apply for SSC CAPF Exam.

Note:
- Ex-servicemen who have already secured employment under Central Government in Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ posts on regular basis after availing of the benefits of reservation are NOT eligible for fee concession.
- The period of “Call up Service” of an Ex-Serviceman in the Armed Forces will also be considered as service rendered in the Armed Forces for purpose of age relaxation, as per rules.
- A Matriculate Ex-Serviceman who has put in not less than 15 years of service as on closing date with Armed Forces of the Union will be considered eligible for appointment to the Group ‘C’ posts of SI in Delhi Police and ASI in CISF against posts reserved for EXS only.
- Age relaxation and other benefits are not admissible to sons, daughters and dependents of ex-servicemen.

- The application form will be released in the month of March 2021.
- No correction facility will be provided to a candidate once the form is successfully submitted.
- Applicants must pay the application fee to submit the form or else their application will be considered incomplete and will likely be rejected.
- Applicants should keep the scanned photograph and signature handy before filling the form.
