Powergrid Recruitment through GATE Eligibility Criteria

It is very necessary for all the applicants to make sure that they must fulfill the eligibility criteria before they apply for the selection in Powergrid through GATE exam. The details about the eligibility criteria are given in the following points:

  • Candidates must be the citizen of India.
  • The upper age of candidates should be 28 years as on 31st December 2018.
  • The applicants must have qualified any one of the engineering course from a recognized institute such as B.tech, B.E. or B.Sc (Engg.).
  • In addition to that, candidates must have attained minimum 65% marks or its equivalent CGPA in the graduation.
  • Candidates, who are waiting for their result and expecting it to be announced by 14th August 2019, are also eligible to apply for the recruitment process.

Age Relaxation

Candidates, who belong to the reserved category, will be offered the relaxation in their upper age. The details about the age relaxation in the upper age are given in the table below:

Powergrid Recruitment through GATE Application Form

The details about the application form are given in the following points. Candidates should be careful enough while applying for the recruitment. 

  • The application form is available online on the official website of PSU.
  • It will be required for the applicants to fill all the details such as the name, address and the details of the educational; qualification in the application form.
  • In addition to that, candidates must need to upload the scanned photo and signature in the application form in the prescribed format.
  • The general communication details will also be filled in the application form such as the valid email ID and the mobile number.
  • Candidates will also enter the registration number of GATE application form in the PSU’s application form.
  • They will have to make the payment of Rs.500/- in online mode as application fee. SC/ST/PwD/ Ex-SM/ Departmental candidates are not required to pay the fee.
  • Candidates will have to take the printout of the filled and submitted application form for the further reference.

Selection Procedure

  • The selection of the candidates in the PSU for the posts will be on the basis of the score attained by them in the GATE exam.
  • The final selection of the candidates will be done after the commencement of the interview and group discussion.
  • Candidates need to work on their communication and personality to get selected in the interview and GD test.

Group Discussion/ Interview

The GD and personal interview will be last but not the least process of selection. Candidates have tom prepare well for GD and personality test. In order to get qualified in Interview, candidates have to cross the below-mentioned cutoff:

  • Unreserved Category- 40%;
  • OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/ PwD- 30%;
