LBS Centre for Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram takes full responsibility of conducting Kerala SET 2023 to select candidates for Higher Secondary School Teachers and Non-Vocational Teachers in VHSE. Kerala State Eligibility Test (Kerala SET) application form is most likely to be live online from October 2022. The exam has two papers– paper I is common to all candidates, while paper II is a test based the subject of specialisation of the candidate at the Post Graduate (PG) Level. There are 31 subjects for paper II. The minimum passing marks for Kerala SET 2023 is as follows:

Kerala SET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Those who meet the eligibility criteria prescribed below can apply for Kerala SET 2023:
Age Limit: There is no age limit to apply for Kerala SET 2023.
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates need to hold a master’s degree in the concerned subject or equivalent with not less than 50% marks and B.Ed degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- For Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, those having M.Sc.Ed degree in the subjects concerned with not less than 50% marks from any one of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by the NCERT are eligible too. For Botany and Zoology, those having M.Sc.Ed degree in Life Science will also be considered.
- For the subjects Commerce, French, German, Geology, Home Science, Journalism, Latin, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Russian, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics and Syriac candidates need not acquire B.Ed degree.
- Those who have acquired II class master’s degree in Communicative English with not less than 50% marks and B.Ed can also apply.
- Candidates who have acquired DLED/ LTTC in Arabic, Urdu and Hindi but do not have B.Ed Degree are eligible too.
- For the subject Biotechnology, those who have master’s degree in Biotechnology with not less than 50% marks and B.Ed degree in natural science are eligible.
Note: Reserved category candidates will be given a relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks.
Kerala SET 2023 Application Form
Candidates who wish to appear for the SET exam need to fill their Kerala SET 2023 application forms online. The application form will be made available on the official website of LBS Centre for Science and Technology www.lbscentre.kerala.gov.in.
- In the first step of the registration process, the candidates need to get their mobile number verified through OTP.
- After this step, the candidates will be able to fill the application form by providing their personal and academic details.
- Once these details are entered, the candidates can submit the form and generate a registration id.
- Candidates then need to upload their photograph and signature in scanned format into the application form.
- The next step will be the payment of the prescribed amount of application fee.
- Candidates can now take the printout of the filled application form which should be kept safe for future reference.
- Differently challenged candidates who want to avail scribe facility and the relaxation in marks need to send the printout of the application and copy of the medical certificate attested by Gazetted Officer to the LBS Centre.
Application fee:
- The application fee will be Rs. 1000/- for General/ OBC candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC/ ST/ Differently abled candidates.
- Only online mode of fee payment will be provided to the candidates and can be done via debit card/ credit card/ net banking.

Kerala SET 2023 Admit Card
- Admit card of Kerala SET 2023 will be prepared for only those candidates who successfully register for the test.
- The admit card will be available on the website of the LBS Centre www.lbscentre.kerala.gov.in tentatively in the 3rd week of December 2022.
- Candidates need to enter their Registration ID and Site Access Key to download their admit card.
- A printout of the admit card should be taken after the download to be carried to the exam center on the day of exam.
- Under no circumstances, the candidates will be allowed to enter the exam hall without a valid admit card.
Kerala SET 2023 Answer Key
- Kerala SET 2023 answer key of all subjects will be published on the official websites of the LBS Centre immediately after the examination.
- Complaints from the candidates regarding the answer keys can be sent to the Director, LBS Centre in writing within five days from the publication of the keys.
- The complaint should be accompanied with a DD for Rs. 300/- for each question challenged drawn from any branch of a nationalized bank in favor of the Director, LBS Centre payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
- If a complaint regarding any question is found to be genuine, the fee remitted for that question will be refunded.
Kerala SET 2023 Result
- Kerala SET 2023 result will be declared online by the authorities and will be published on the website of the LBS Centre.
- Candidates who clear the test will be awarded the eligibility certificate after verification of their documents.
- Candidates should get their documents verified with one year of the result announcement or they will be required to pay late fee for that.
- Those who are awarded the certificate can apply for the post of Assistant Professor in the institutes of Kerala.

Frequently Asked Questions
Question 1: I haven’t completed my master’s degree. Can I apply?
Answer: Yes you can if you are in the final year of your master’s degree course (as in year 2023). Certificate will, however, only be granted after clearing the exam.
Question 2: Is there any age limit for appearing in the SET exam?
Answer: No age limit is prescribed for candidates appearing for the SET.
Question 3: Can I ask for a refund on the application fee?
Answer: Application fee once submitted will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Question 4: Is there any provision for re-checking of the answer sheet?
Answer: No request for re-checking of the OMR answer sheet will be entertained from the candidates.
Question 5: Can I get a duplicate eligibility certificate if I lose the original one?
Answer: A duplicate certificate will be issued to the candidate who apply for the same to the Director, LBS Centre on payment of Rs. 1000/-. An affidavit in stamp paper worth Rs. 100/- to the effect that the original certificate has been irrecoverably lost, duly attested by a Notary Public/ First Class Judicial Magistrate and other relevant certificates should be enclosed.
