Applicants should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with the minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate from a recognized board.
- The condition of 50% minimum marks is not applicable in case of SC/ ST/ Ex-SM candidates and to those candidates who possess qualification higher than 12th such as Graduation/ PG
- Those who want to apply for the scouting post must hold any of the following qualification: Rover/ Guide/ President Scouts/ Ranger or Himalaya Wood Bridge (HWB) holder in any section, an active member of a scout’s organization for the last 5 years.
For Group D (level 1)
Candidate should be 10th pass and hold National Apprenticeship certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT
Age Limit:
The required age limit for all categories is provided below:
- For Unreserved category: 18-28 years
- For OBC: 18-31 years
- For SC/ ST candidates: 18-33 years
- For Serving Railway Employee: Up to 40 years

Application fee
Candidates have to pay Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ ST, Ex-Serviceman, PWD, Women, Minorities and EBC candidates) as necessary application fee through online payment in favour of RRC/ NR.
Selection process
