Maharashtra SET Eligibility Criteria 2022

The candidates wishing to appear for the Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (SET) for Assistant Professor must familiarize themselves with the eligibility requirement. Only those candidates who satisfy the Maharashtra SET Eligibility Criteria 2022 will be awarded the certificate after clearing the exam. The qualification requirement for the applying candidates is a master’s degree from a recognized institute/ university. The candidates who appear for the exam without meeting the basis eligibility standards will be rejected at any stage if found eligible. The Maharashtra SET Eligibility Criteria 2022 in terms of age criteria and educational criteria are given in details below. Kindly go through these details and make sure that you meet each of them before proceeding towards your application submission.

Age Criteria:

Qualification Criteria:

  • The candidates must hold a master’s degree recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
  • Those with a post-graduate diploma/ certificate awarded by any Indian university or with a degree from any foreign university must ensure that their degree is equivalent to the Master’s degree of recognized Indian Universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
  • The candidates must secure at least 55% in their master’s or equivalent exam, without rounding off in order to be eligible for Maharashtra SET exam.
  • A relaxation of 5% marks will be given to the candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ SBC/ DT/ NT/ PH/ VH category candidates. Such candidates only need to score 50% marks in their qualifying exam.
  • Those applicants who will be appearing in their master degree final exam in the year 2019 can also apply for the MH SET. Similarly, the candidates who are still awaiting their final year result are eligible too. Such candidates will only be allowed provisionally to appear in the exam and must fulfill the minimum criteria in order to receive the certificate.
  • The candidates mentioned above must submit their post-graduation mark sheet within two years from the date of declaration of the Maharashtra SET result 2022.
  • The applicants are only eligible to appear for SET in the subject of their post-graduation.

Important Notes:

  • No mark sheet will be issued to the qualified or non-qualified candidates. The qualified applicants will only be receiving the certificate of eligibility.
  • Any kind of exemption from Maharashtra SET will be according to the decisions made by the UGC and State Government from time to time.
