Indian Navy releases notifications for the recruitment Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR), Matric Recruit (MR), Musician (MUS), Sports Entry and Artificer Apprentices (AA).

Indian Navy Sailor Eligibility Criteria 2022

The eligibility criteria for Indian Navy AA, MR & SSR are given below. It is necessary for candidates to meet these eligibility criteria in order to apply.

  • Gender and Marital Status – Only Male Candidates who are not married can apply for the exam.
  • Age Limit – The candidate must be born between 1st February 2002 and 31st July 2005 both dates inclusive.
  • Educational qualification for SSR – Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and any one of the following subjects – Biology/ Chemistry/ Computer Science.
  • Educational qualification for AA – Aspirants should have passed 10+ 2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate with Maths & Physics, with at least one of the following subjects – Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science.

Indian Navy Sailor Application Form 2022 – AA, SSR, MR, MUS

The application form for Indian Navy posts like AA, SSR, MR, & MUS releases in both online and offline mode. Please note that those who are applying for more than one post need to submit separate application forms.

Online Application

  • To start the process of online application form submission, aspirants have to visit the official website and register.
  • Candidates have to register using their Aadhar or any other Photo Id proof.
  • After registration, candidates may access the main application form.
  • In the main application form, aspirants have to provide their necessary educational, personal, and contact details.
  • Along with the details, candidates are required to upload scanned images of their photograph, signature, and other necessary details.
  • Apart from this, the candidates also need to pay the required application fee.

Offline Application

  • Those who want to apply offline may download the application form through the website.
  • The application form should be filled in Capital letters with neat & clean handwriting.

  • The details entered in the application form should be accurate. Otherwise, the application form can get rejected.

Documents required

Candidates must submit the following documents along with the application form in case submitting the application form offline.

  • One recent Passport size photograph
  • Matric /equivalent certificate for verification of date of birth. (Self attested copy)
  • Matriculation Mark sheet and certificate or Mark sheet and certificate of Higher Board examination as applicable (Self attested copy)
  • Domicile certificate.
  • Two self-addressed envelopes of size 22 x 10 cms with Rs 10/- stamp affixed on one envelope and one envelope without a stamp is to be submitted along with the application form. On top of the envelope containing the application, the Type of Entry, name of State, Percentage in exam, and name of Exam passed is to be clearly written

Application Fee

The Indian Navy application fee is different for candidates from various categories.

  • General/ OBC Candidates – Rs. 215/-
  • SC/ ST – Nil

Indian Navy Admit Card 2022

  • Eligible shortlisted candidates will get call-up letters from the Navy. Alternatively, candidates may also download the admit card from the official website.
  • To download an admit card, candidates have to enter their registration details.
  • The details about the examination centre, date, and time are mentioned on the admit card.
  • Authorities will not allow any candidate to take the exam without an admit card.

The exam pattern for Sailor in the Indian Navy is given below.

  • Mode of examination – Offline (Pen and Paper based test)

Indian Navy Physical Test 

  • The Indian Navy Physical Test for Soiler Posts – AA, SSR, and MR includes the following three activities.
    • 1.6 Km run in 7 minutes
    • 20 squats (Uthak Baithak)
    • 10 Push-ups.
  • Please note that only those candidates will undergo PFT (Physical Fitness Test) who will clear the written test.
  • The candidates will go under PFT at their own risk.
  • The result of the test will be declared on the same date.
  • Those who will clear the physical test will undergo Medical Examination.

Indian Navy Medical Test 2022

  • Only those candidates will be invited for the Medical test who will clear the Physical Fitness Test.
  • Authorized military doctors will conduct medical examinations as per medical standards prescribed in current regulation applicable to all sailors on entry.
  • Those candidates who will be declared unfit may submit a review application within 21 days for the result declaration.

Merit List

  • The merit list releases on the basis of all tests conducted by the recruitment board.
  • IHQ MoD (Navy), New Delhi is the authority responsible for releasing this list.
  • On the basis of this merit list, the centre-wise select list of candidates is displayed on the respective recruitment centres.

Indian Navy NCC Entry 2022 

  • Through this entry, those candidates are hired who have Naval Wing Senior Div NCC ‘C’ certificate with B.E./ B.Tech Degree.
  • No written test is conducted for this entry.
  • Candidates are asked to forward their applications IHQ MoD (N)/ DMPR through DGNCC.
  • Applicants are selected on the basis of an SSB interview. After clearing the SSB interview, aspirants have to undergo a medical examination and if found fit are inducted into the Indian Navy on the basis of All India Merit.

Indian Navy Direct Entry: Permanent Commission For Undergraduate Level Entry

  • In order to participate in this entry program, candidates must have passed class 12th with a minimum of  70% in PCM and 50% in English in 10th or 12th standard
  • The application form is released generally 6 to 0 months before the commencement of the course.
  • Candidates are selected for SSB on the basis of JEE (Main) – All India Rank (AIR) for the BE/ B Tech curriculum.
  • Those who get shortlisted for SSB and clear the same are thereafter appointed in order of merit based on no. of vacancies.

Indian Navy Direct: Permanent Commission For Graduate Level Entries

  • This entry is only for Graduate unmarried candidates.
  • After the receipt of the application preliminary scanning of candidates is conducted at IHQ-MoD(Navy) for their professional ability in respect of Musician and Sports entries.
  • Shortlisted candidates then called for SSB interviews at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Coimbatore/ Vizag/ Kolkata.
  • Those who clear the SSB interview have to undergo a medical examination.
  • Finally, those aspirants who clear the medical exam go appointed on the basis of merit.

Indian Navy Entrance Test 2022 (INET 2022):    Permanent Commission/ Short Service Commission For Graduate Level Entries

The INET is conducted twice a year to shortlist the officers for the Indian Navy.

INET Eligibility Criteria 2022

The INET eligibility criteria 2022 depend upon the post you are applying as shown below.

Executive(GS)/ Hydrography Cadre (Age – 19 years and 6 months to 25 years)

  • At least 60% marks in B.E/ B.Tech.

Information Technology (Age – 19 years and 6 months to 25 years)

  • BE/B.Tech (Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/IT) with a minimum of 60%
  • M.Tech (Computer Science) with a minimum of 60%
  • M.Sc (Computer) with a minimum of 60% marks
  • MCA with a minimum of 60% marks

Submarine (Age – 19 years and 6 months to 25 years)

  • Candidates must have passed B. Tech with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university with Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Telecommunications/ Computer Science/ Control Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Naval Architecture (Age – 19 years and 6 months to 25 years)

  • BE/B Tech with minimum 60% marks in Mechanical/ Mechanical Engineering with Automation/ Civil/Aeronautical/ Metallurgy/ Naval Architecture.

Observer (Age – 19 years to 24 years)

  • Aspirants need to have a B. E./ B. Tech. in any discipline from AICTE recognized institute/ university.

Law (Age – 22 years to 27 years)

  • Candidates should possess a degree in Law qualifying them for enrolment as advocates under the Advocates Act, 1961.

INET Exam Pattern 2022

The pattern of INET Exam 2022 is given below.

  • Mode of examination – Offline (Pen and Paper based examination)
  • Type of questions – Objective type multiple choice questions
  • Number of questions – 100
  • Maximum Mark – 400
  • Duration of the exam – 120 minutes
  • Marking Pattern – Each question will carry 4 marks
  • Negative Marking – 1 mark will be deducted in case of an incorrect answer

Shortlisting for SSB

  • Those candidates who will clear the INET examination will be allowed to take part in the SSB Interview.
  • To be considered for the SSB interview, candidates have to qualify in all sections of the INET Exam.
  • The tentative locations for the SSB interview are as follows – Bangalore for Pilot & Observer candidates and at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Visakhapatnam/ Kolkata for other branches/ entries
  • Shortlisted candidates will receive an SMS and Email ID informing candidates about their selection.

Merit List & Appointment Letter

  • The merit list will be released for the selection of candidates after the SSB interview.
  • Authorities will prepare a merit list on the basis of combined marks of INET (50% weightage) & SSB (50% weightage).
  • Candidates getting their name in the final merit list who will be declared medically fit will get an appointment letter from the navy.
