RRB ALP 2022: Aplication Form, Exam Date, Syllabus, Eligibilty

RRB ALP 2022 will be conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) to select the eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot and technician categories in Indian Railways. Interested candidates can apply for the exam by filling the application form for the same. The board will most probably release the application form in the 4th week of March 2022.

The exam will undergo different phases- CBT-I, CBT-II, Computer-based aptitude test and document verification. Here candidates will be allotted a computer system to mark the answer to the questions displayed on their computer screen. Candidates will get 1 hour to finish CBT phase-I and 2 hours 30 minutes for CBT Phase-II. Marks will be deducted in case the candidates select the incorrect answer.

RRB ALP 2022 Highlights

• Candidates can apply for RRB ALP recruitment only via online mode. The authority won’t accept printed application form or otherwise.
• Applicants should ensure that they fit the medical requirements for the post they intend to apply for. Medically unfit candidates won’t be given any alternative appointment.
• Candidates can choose only one RRB and indicate their preference of Railway Units and posts against vacancies notified for the chosen RRB only.
• In order to apply for the exam, applicants must possess a valid email id and mobile number. The board will communicate to the candidates in future via these modes only.
• Mere issuance of call letter does not imply that the candidature of the candidates has been accepted by the board.
• Multiple application forms should be avoided at any cost. The board will reject the multiple application and the candidates might get debarred from taking the exam in future.
• The name, father’s name, date of birth as recorded in matriculation/SSLC/High school examination certificate or equivalent certificate only shall be considered valid.
• Selected candidates for the post of ALP and Technicians will have to undergo training wherever prescribed and during training period only stipend will be paid as applicable.
• Candidates should submit their applications on or before the due date specified by the authority to avoid last-minute technical problems.

Eligibility criteria for RRB ALP 2022

The eligibility criteria to be met by every applicant are as follows-

Age criteria: The age of the candidates must fall between 18 years and 28 years as on 1^st July 2022.

Nationality: A candidate must be either a citizen of India, subject of Nepal/Bhutan, Refugee who came to India before 1^st January 1962 with the intention of settling there, PIO migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Educational qualification

• Assistant Loco Pilot (Traction): Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trades of Armature and Coil Winder / Electrician / Electronics Mechanic / Fitter / Heat Engine / Instrument Mechanic / Machinist / Mechanic Diesel / Mechanic Motor Vehicle / Millwright Maintenance Mechanic / Mechanic Radio & TV / Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic / Tractor Mechanic / Turner / Wireman

OR

Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the trades mentioned above

OR

3 years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering (OR) Combination of various streams of these Engineering disciplines from a recognized Institution in lieu of ITI.

• Technician Grade III Armature and Coil Winder (General services): Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trade of Winder (Armature)

Note: Candidates awaiting their result of the final examination of concerned technical qualification cannot apply for the exam. Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in lieu of course completed Act Apprenticeship / ITI for the post of Technicians.

RRB ALP 2022 Application form

The application form for RRB ALP 2022 exam will only be made available in online mode. Candidates need to register themselves for the exam by providing their email id, mobile number and other relevant information. Applicants should keep their documents handy while filling the form. On completing the registration, they need to login into the portal to fill the application form. The details in the application form should be entered very carefully as no correction window will be provided once the form is submitted. Candidates must provide accurate information that should match with their original records. Incorrect or misleading information will lead to the rejection of the application. Candidates should avoid filling multiple application forms. They must pay the requisite amount of application fee for the exam.

Application fee

Candidates belonging to the SC/ ST/ Ex-Serviceman/ PWDs/ Female/ Transgender/ Minorities/ Economically backward categories need to pay Rs. 250/- as the application fee for the exam. For rest of the categories, the fee to be paid is Rs. 500/-. Payment of the stated fee can be made using the SBI E-Challan, Post office Challan and online mode (credit card/ debit card).

The exam pattern of RRB ALP exam is given below-

RRB ALP Syllabus

The syllabus for RRB ALP 2022 exam is as follows-

• Mathematics: Number system, time and distance, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, algebra, geometry and trigonometry, BODMAS, decimals, fractions, LCM, HCF, ratio and proportion, percentages, mensuration, time and work, elementary statistics, square root, age calculations, calendar & clock, pipes & cistern etc.
• General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, syllogism, conclusions and decision making, similarities and differences, analytical reasoning, classification, directions,  jumbling, VENN diagram, data interpretation and sufficiency, alphabetical and number series, coding and decoding, mathematical operations, relationships, statement – arguments and assumptions etc.
• General Science: The syllabus under this will cover physics, chemistry and life sciences of class 10^th level.
• General awareness on current affairs in science & technology, sports, culture, personalities, economics, politics and other subjects of importance.
• Basic Science and Engineering: Engineering drawing (projections, views, drawing instruments, lines, geometric figures, symbolic representation), heat and temperature, basic electricity, levers and simple machines, occupational safety and health, units, measurements, mass weight and density, work power and energy, speed and velocity, environment education, illiteracy etc.

RRB ALP 2022 Admit card

• Candidates can download the hall ticket for RRB ALP 2022 examination from the official website of the board.
• No admit card will be sent to the candidates by post or other mode except the online one.
• The authority will also intimate the candidates about the call letters through email and mobile phone.
• It is mandatory for the candidates to bring the admit card along with a valid id proof to the exam center failing which they won’t be allowed to appear for the exam.
• Candidates also need to bring one colored passport-sized photograph as uploaded in the application form for verification at the exam venue.

Result and Selection

• The result of RRB ALP 2022 will be declared on the official website of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB).
• The authority will prepare a list of the candidates shortlisted for next phase of the exam based on the scores obtained by them in the exam.
• After clearing all the phases i.e. CBT-I, CBT-II, Computer-based aptitude test and document verification, the candidates will be given appointment letter for the post they have applied for.
