NHTET 2024: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Date

Candidates who wish to apply for the posts of Assistant Lecturer and Teaching Associates in NCHMCT affiliated IHMs need to clear an eligibility test. Those who clear this test will be awarded a certificate and can apply for these posts till the validity of the certificate. The test is generally held in the month of March/April and is conducted as an OMR based test (offline). Application forms for the exam are expected to be release soon through online mode. NHTET Eligibility Criteria 2024

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria prescribed below should only apply for the NHTET 2024 exam:

Nationality:

  • Only those candidates who are a citizen of India are eligible for NHTET.

Age limit:

The maximum age limit to apply for the TET exam for different categories is provided below:

Academic qualification:

  • Candidates with full time bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management from any recognized University scoring not less than 55% marks can apply. However, such candidates require at least 2 years Hospitality Industry Experience after graduation.
  • Applicants having full time master’s degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management from a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks are eligible too. Such candidates must also hold a full time bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management with at least 55% marks.

NHTET Application Form 2024

Candidates can obtain the application form for NHTET 2024 from the official website www.thims.gov.in. Before starting the filling of applications, the candidates are required to purchase a demand draft from any scheduled Bank for application fee payment, since the DD number will be required to fill in the form.

  • Now, in the application form, the candidates will have to provide their basic personal and academic details.
  • Scanned copies of passport size photograph and a valid identity proof of the candidate should be uploaded into the application form.
  • A valid email address and a phone number are also compulsory to be provided in the application form.
  • Candidates not having post graduation degree in Hospitality need to provide the details of experience at least of two years in the Hospitality Industry.
  • After all the details are provided into the application form, it can be submitted online by the candidates.
  • Upon online submission, the candidate should take a printout of the filled in application form containing three pages and send it to the Council along with the DD.

Application fee

  • For General/ EWS /OBC categories, the application fee will be Rs. 800/-.
  • The application fee will be Rs. 400/- for female candidates and SC/ ST/ PD categories.
  • Demand draft of the application fee must necessarily be sent to the Council with the application form or the application process will not be complete.

NHTET 2024 Syllabus

A basic overview of the NHTET exam syllabus for all the 3 papers is provided here:

  • Paper I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test aptitude and method towards teaching, reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness/ knowledge of the candidate.
  • Paper II shall consist of questions from the topics of Nutrition, Food science, General Management, Hotel Accounts (for hospitality related teaching posts).
  • Paper III shall consist of questions from the four core areas of hospitality i.e. Food Production, F & B Service and Management, Accommodation Operation Management and House Keeping Management.

NHTET Admit Card 2024

  • The admit card will be uploaded on the official website and can be downloaded by the candidates using their registration details.
  • After downloading, the candidates are required to take a printout of the admit card.
  • This printout along with the original id proof (same as the one uploaded in the application form) should be carried to the exam center.
  • Only those candidates who are carrying these documents will be allowed to appear for the exam.
  • Care should be taken to keep the admit card in good condition as damaged or distorted admit cards will not be considered as valid.

NHTET Answer Key 2024

  • The answer key of the eligibility test will be published by the authorities on the website www.thims.gov.in.
  • Candidates can check the answer key and if they find any incorrect key, the can challenge the answer within 4 days of its release.
  • The challenge should be made with proper documentary proof via email to [email protected] only.
  • The expert committee for make the required changes and publish the final answer key on the website again.
  • Answer sheets of the candidates will be evaluated on the basis of new answer key.

NHTET 2024 Result & Certification

  • The result of NHTET exam will be made available on the official website www.thims.gov.in.
  • Candidates securing more than the prescribed cut-off marks will be considered eligible for the post of Assistant Lecturer and Teaching Associates.
  • The cut-off marks for both these posts will be different.
  • Those who are declared qualified will receive a detailed mark sheet-cum-certificate which will be valid for the time period mentioned on it.
  • Candidates with a valid certificate can apply for a post of Assistant Lecturer/ Teaching Associates in NCHM or any of its affiliated IHMs.
  • Those who are not qualified can check their marks on the official website along with a remark ‘not cleared’.

FAQs

Ques: Is there any limit to the number of times I can appear for the NHTET exam?

Ans: Candidates can appear as many times as they wish given that their age lies within the prescribed limit.

Ques: What are the test centers for the conduct of NHTET exam?

Ans: The eligibility test is expected to be held in the following cities:

Noida, Jaipur, Mumbai, Gandhinagar, Chennai, Bhopal, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chandigarh, Bhubaneswar, Gurdaspur, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Hajipur (Near Patna) and Thiruvananthapuram

Ques: I want to check my OMR answer sheet. Is there any way I can do this?

Ans: You can see your answer sheet by visiting the NCHMCT office at Noida within a period of 90 days from the declaration of result. You can also ask for the copy of Answer Sheets by depositing the requisite fee within the said time limit. However, you cannot request for any change in your answers.

Ques: What documents can be uploaded as identity proof in the application form?

Ans: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License and Passport will be considered as valid identity cards.

Ques: Can I avail the facility of scribe at the time of the test?

Ans: Physically Challenged candidates who are not in a position to write can avail the services of scribe by making prior request at least one week before the date of NHTET. The request should be made in writing to the Coordinator of the NHTET Coordinating Institution.
