GSET 2023: For determining the eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professor in universities and colleges of Gujarat State, Gujarat State Eligibility Test (GSET) is conducted. Eligibility of the candidates will depend on their performance in both the papers of GSET (paper I and paper II). Application form will be released through online mode tentatively in the month of November 2022. Candidates who wish to appear for the GSET 2023 exam can submit their applications given that they meet the basic eligibility criteria prescribed.

GSET 2023 Important Dates

GSET 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The following criteria have been laid down by the authorities to be eligible for GSET 2023 exam:
- A post graduation degree in the relevant or related subject from a recognized university is required in order to be eligible.
- The candidates should have scored a minimum of 55% marks in their master’s degree exam.
- A relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks in given to SEBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ PH/ VH/ Transgender category candidates.
- Candidates who are pursuing their master’s degree or those who have appeared for their master’s degree final year exam and are awaiting result can also apply.
- The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks.
GSET 2023 Application Form
Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria can proceed with the submission of applications. The GSET application form 2023 will be released through online mode on the official website www.gujaratset.in. In order to avoid last minute rush, the candidates are advised to apply early.
- The first step towards the registration process will be payment of the examination fee online.
- An order number and reference id will be generated after successful payment of application fee.
- Using these details, the candidates can login to their account and obtain the application form.
- Basic personal, academic, contact and other details related to the candidates will be asked in the application form.
- Candidates should also upload their photograph and signature in scanned format in the application form.
- Upon providing these details, the candidates should submit the application and take its printout after that.
- Details of accepted applicants for the GSET exam will be placed on website after 10 days of the last date of submission of application form.
Application fee:
- Examination fee and processing charges can only be paid online by Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking.
- For general/ SEBC candidates, the application fee will be Rs. 900/- + bank charges.
- For SC/ ST candidates, the application fee will be Rs. 700/- + bank charges.
- For PH/ VH candidates, the application fee will be Rs. 100/- + bank charges.

GSET 2023 Admit Card
- The admit card for GSET 2023 exam will be published on the official website around 7 days prior to the exam.
- Candidates should take a printout of the admit card and check it carefully for any kind of mistake.
- In case of any error, immediately contact GSET office by email at [email protected] and also submit written application to the GSET Office.
- The hardcopy of the admit card should be carried by the candidates while reporting to the exam center.
- Along with the admit card, the candidates should also carry a valid identity proof with them while reporting for the exam.
GSET 2023 Result
- The result of the GSET will be made available on the websites www.gujaratset.ac.in and www.gujaratset.in when it is declared.
- The candidates will not be individually intimated about their result.
- To check their result, the candidates need to login to their account using the credentials generated at the time of registration.
- Marks obtained by the candidates in the test will be placed on GSET website soon after the declaration of the result.
- The GSET Agency will issue e-certificate to the qualifying candidates after all the documents are verified. No hard copy of the certificate will be sent.

Frequently Asked Questions
Question 1: Can a candidate from outside Gujarat apply for GSET?
Answer: Candidates from all over the country can apply for GSET. However, relaxation benefit will only be given to those belonging to the Gujarat state.
Question 2: My photograph does not appear on the application form printout. What can I do to fix this?
Answr: Due to Technical or any other reason, if the photograph uploaded does not appear on the application form printout, you need to send the registration details with scanned photograph immediately via email at [email protected].
Question 3: In which cities will the GSET exam be conducted?
Answer: The GSET exam is expected to be conducted in the following cities:
Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Patan, Bhavnagar, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Godhra, Junagadh, Valsad and Bhuj
Question 4: My name does not appear in the list of accepted applicants. What should I do now?
Answer: In case of name missing from the list, you can contact GSET Agency, Vadodara through email at [email protected] within 5 days of declaration of the list.
Question 5: Do the authorities release the GSET answer key? Can I challenge it if I find any mistake?
Answer: The GSET provisional answer key will be released on the official website and the candidates can make a challenge against the key on payment of Rs. 1000/- per question challenged and documented proof. Question 6: How do I provide my choice for subject paper or exam center?
Answer: Choice for the paper in which you wish to appear in GSET and the exam city choice can be provided into the application form.
Question 7: What if I lose my GSET certificate?
Answer: A Duplicate Certificate will be issued after making a request and on payment of the fee of Rs. 500/- via demand draft drawn from a Nationalized Bank in favor of the Member Secretary, Gujarat State Eligibility Test, payable at Vadodara. Documentary evidence containing registration/ roll number and an affidavit in stamp paper worth Rs. 100/- to the effect that the GSET Certificate has been irrecoverably lost should also be sent.
