UPCET Syllabus 2022: Syllabus of Paper 1 to Paper 11

Under UPCET, a total of 11 papers are conducted for admissions in different courses. UPCET syllabus 2022 will be different for different papers. A well-defined syllabus helps the aspirants to prepare well for the exam as the pattern of the exam is closely related to its syllabus. Generally, the syllabus for each paper in UPCET follows the curriculum of the qualifying level exam. However, the UPCET syllabus 2022 for lateral entry will cover the topics related to an aptitude test.

UPCET Syllabus 2022

The syllabus in detail for different papers whose exam will be conducted under UPCET is given below.

Paper 1

Physics: Measurement, Laws of Motion, Motion in one dimension, Motion in two dimensions, Linear Momentum & Collisions, Oscillatory Motion, Mechanics of Solids and Fluids, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effect of Current, Rotation of a Rigid Body about a Fixed Axis, etc

Chemistry: Atomic Structure, Redox Reactions, Electrochemistry, Catalysis, Chemical Bonding, Chemical Equilibrium and Kinetics, Colloids, Preparation and Properties of the following: Mohr’s salt, Microcosmic salt, Plaster of Paris, etc. Thermochemistry, General Organic Chemistry, Isomerism, IUPAC, Polymers, Carbohydrates, etc

Mathematics: Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors, Co-ordinate Geometry, Probability, Dynamics & Statics

Paper 2

Physics: Same as Physics syllabus of paper 1

Chemistry: Same as Chemistry syllabus of paper 1

Biology:

  • Zoology: Organic Evolution, Origin of Life, Applied Biology, Mechanism of Organic Evolution, Human Genetics and Eugenics, Detailed study of the following: Protozoa, Porifera, Coelenterata, etc
  • Botany: Plant Cell, Ecosystem, Genetics, Cell Differentiation Plant Tissue, Anatomy of Root, Stem and Leaf, Soil, Photosynthesis and Important Phylum.

Paper 3

AG I: Agricultural Physics and Agricultural Chemistry

  • Agricultural Physics: Unit, measurement, screw gauge, Force-analysis, force parallelogram, momentum of force, equilibrium of forces, velocity and acceleration, etc
  • Agricultural Chemistry: Valency, atomic weight, molecular weight, equivalent weight, structure of atom, Avogadro’s hypothesis and its uses, ionic theory, etc
  • Inorganic Chemistry: Water and its hardness, methods of treatment of hard water and soft water, occurrence of compounds, etc
  • Organic Chemistry: Formation of organic compounds, physical properties, nomenclature, simple formulae, general properties, etc

AG II: Agricultural Engineering and Statistics

  • Agricultural Engineering: Properties of different materials used in agricultural implements, Classification of plough, common troubles in their operation and precautions, etc
  • Agricultural Statistics: Collection of data, classification and tabulation, frequency distribution, mean and their kinds, merits and demerits, etc

AG III: Agronomy and Agricultural Botany

  • Agronomy: Crops, Soils, Manures and Manuring, Irrigation & Drainage
  • Agricultural Botany: Type of inflorescence, pollen, and pollination, classification, structure, germination and dispersal of seeds, etc

Paper 4 (Aptitude Test for Architecture)

Part A: Mathematics & Aesthetic Sensitivity

  • Mathematics: Algebra, Probability, Trigonometry, Co-ordinate Geometry, Calculus, Vectors, Dynamics and Statics.
  • Aesthetic Sensitivity: Analytical Reasoning, Mental Ability, Visualization of different surfaces of 3D objects, Imaginative Comprehension and Expression, Architectural awareness, etc.

Part B: Drawing Aptitude

  • Understanding of Scale and proportion, sense of perspective, color
  • Understanding of the effects of light on objects through shades and shadows
  • Creating visual harmony using colors in given composition
  • Understanding of scale and sense of proportion
  • Sense of Perspective Drawing, etc

Paper 5 (Aptitude Test for General Awareness (BHMCT/ BFAD/ BFA))

  • Reasoning & Logical Deduction
  • Numerical Ability & Scientific Aptitude
  • General Knowledge
  • English Language

Paper 6 (Aptitude Test for Diploma Holders in Engineering)

Engineering Graphics, Engineering Mechanics, Basic Electronics Engineering, Basic Electrical Engineering, Elements of Computer Science, Elementary Biology, Basic Workshop Practice and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics of Diploma standard

Paper 7 (Aptitude Test for Diploma Holders in Pharmacy)

Pharmaceutics I, Pharmaceutics II, Pharmaceutical Chemistry I, Pharmaceutical Chemistry II, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Health Education & Community Pharmacy, Pharmacognosy, Drug Store & Business Management, Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence, etc

Paper 8 (Aptitude Test for B.Sc Graduate in Engineering)

Linear Algebra, Calculus, Fourier series, Transform Theory, Differential Equations, Complex Variables and Probability & Statistics.

Paper 9 (Aptitude Test for MBA)

  • English Language

Paper 10 (Aptitude Test for MCA)

  • Mathematics: Modern Algebra, Algebra, Probability, Trigonometry, Co-Ordinate Geometry, Calculus, Vectors, Dynamics and Statics.
  • Statistics: Mean, Median & Mode, Theory of Probability, Dispersion and Standard Deviation.
  • Logical Ability

Paper 11 (Aptitude Test for 2nd year MCA (Lateral Entry))

  • Mathematics: Modern Algebra and Matrices, Set Theory, Number Theory and Methods of Proof, Combinatorics and Probability.
  • Computing Concepts: Principles of Computer Science, Proposition logic and Boolean algebra, Numerical Techniques, Theory of Computation.

UPCET Exam Pattern 2022

  • Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3 and Paper 4: OMR Test
  • Paper 5, Paper 6, Paper 7, Paper 8, Paper 9, Paper 10 and Paper 11: Computer Based Test
  • Type of questions: Objective types except for the Drawing Aptitude test (Part B of paper 4).
  • Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each right answer. No negative marking for incorrect answers.
