UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) candidates must need to meet with the following criteria:

  • Candidates should have completed B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Final year aspirants are allowed to apply for the mentioned exam.
  • Talking about the age criteria, candidates’ age should be in between 21 to 30 years.
  • There is some age relaxation for candidates belonging to reserved category and it’ll be as per the norms of Government.

  • Fill up the application form. Candidates will be able to get the application form after publication of UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2016 notification.
  • Before, submitting your application form, properly check all entities of your application and ensure those are correct.
  • Upload your scanned passport size photograph and the signature.
  • Make the payment and complete the application procedure.

Application fee:

For General and OBC category candidates: Rs. 200/-

For SC, ST, PH and female category candidates: No fee

UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) Exam Pattern

  • There will be two sections in the exam i.e. section I and section II.
  • Section I will contain 3 papers (General Ability Test, Engineering paper I and Engineering paper II) and each will carry 200 marks. 120 minutes will be given to solve each paper.
  • Section II will contain two conventional papers (Engineering paper I and Engineering paper II) and each will carry 200 marks. 180 minutes will be given to solve each paper.

UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) Admit Card

Admit card of Engineering Services Examination (ESE) will be issued by UPSC only for those candidates who have successfully completed their application procedure. Candidates can download their admit card from the official website of UPSC.

UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) Result

Candidates will be able to check UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) result from its official website. Candidates will be asked to enter their roll number and other important details while viewing their respective result.
