UPCPMT 2022: Important dates, Eligibility Criteria, Application form

Directorate of Medical Education & Training is the authority responsible for conducting Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre Medical Test (UPCPMT). The aspiring candidates should note that the UPCPMT 2022 exam is replaced by NEET UG. The Directorate of medical education & training will conduct counselling on the basis of NEET UG score. Through this counselling, the aspirants can get admission to MBBS/ BDS courses in various government and private colleges across the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Please note that in order to get admission, the candidates first have to clear the NEET UG exam and then register for the Counselling. The application process for NEET UG is expected to start from the month of November 2021.

Main Highlights

  • The authorities will not conduct the UPCPMT exam 2022. The admission process will take place on the basis of NEET UG score only.
  • After the declaration of NEET score, the aspirants need to register for counseling.
  • The NEET exam will have 180 questions carrying 4 marks each.
  • In order to register for the admission (counselling), the candidates have to pay the registration fee of Rs. 2000/-.
  • The application form of NEET exam will release in online mode, most probably in the month of November 2021.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who are looking for admission through UPCPMT 2022 need to fulfill the eligibility criteria below:

Domicile

  • The applicant should have a domicile of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Candidates who have passed class 10th and 12th from the state of Uttar Pradesh do not require a domicile certificate

Educational qualification

  • In order to apply for NEET, the candidate must have passed 10+2 exam with English, Chemistry, Physics and Biology/ Biotechnology subjects. It is mandatory to score at least passing marks in each of these subjects.
  • The applicant must have at least 50% marks in the Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology subjects taken together. In case the candidate belongs to SC/ ST category then he/she requires only 40% marks in these subjects. The PWD candidate of general category needs 45% aggregate marks in PCB.

Performance in the NEET UG Exam

  • As per the NEET UG eligibility criteria, it is compulsory to obtain at least 50th percentile in the NEET exam for admission to MBBS/ BDS courses.
  • SC/ ST and PWD (General) candidates require 40th and 45th percentile respectively.

Application Form

As UPCPMT 2022 is not going to take place, the candidates first have to apply for NEET UG and then for the counselling process separately. The application process of NEET is follows:

  • The aspiring candidates can start the application form submission by visiting the official website i.e. www.ntaneet.nic.in.
  • Applicants will be able to access the application form only after they register themselves by providing their email address and phone number.
  • The authorities will send the user ID and password of the candidates to their email ID and phone number after registration.
  • Then, the candidates have to log in and provide their necessary information in the application form.
  • All the details entered in the application form must be authentic.
  • Candidates also need to upload their photograph and signature in the application form.
  • After submitting the form, the applicants also need to pay the required application fee.
  • Do not forget to take a print out of the application form submitted & application fee payment receipt for the future requirement.

Application Fee                          

The application fee for UPCPMT 2022 (NEET UG) is different for all the categories.

  • SC/ ST/ PWD/ Transgender Candidates: Rs. 1400/-
  • Unreserved (general)/ OBC Candidates: Rs. 750/-

Note – Candidates can pay the fee either in online mode using credit card/ debit card/ net baking or offline using an e-challan.

Exam Pattern

The admission will be provided on the basis of NEET exam whose exam pattern is as follows:

  • Number of Questions: 180
  • Type of Question: Objective type multiple choice questions
  • Mode of Examination: Offline (Pen and Paper Based Exam)
  • Duration of Exam: 3 hours
  • Marking Scheme: Each question will carry 4 marks
  • Negative Marking: 1 Mark is deducted for every incorrect answer
  • Maximum Marks: 720
  • Language of Exam: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Gujarati, Odia, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu (Depends upon the exam center location)

Admit Card

  • After submitting the application form, the candidates will get the facility to download the admit card from the official website of NTA.
  • Please remember that the NTA will not send an admit card by post to any candidate.
  • The admit card will have information like Name, Father’s Name, Roll no, Category, Date of exam, Exam center address etc.
  • It is mandatory for every aspirant to carry the hard copy of an admit card at the exam center.
  • Along with the admit card, the candidates also need to carry one photo ID proof, 1 photograph (same as uploaded in the application form) and PWD Certificate (if applicable).

Result

  • The NTA will declare the result of NEET exam on its official website.
  • Authorities will also release the answer key before the announcement of result.
  • There is no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of result.
  • As UPCPMT Exam 2022 is not going to be conducted, the result of NEET will be considered for admission.

Admission and Counselling process

  • Once the result or UPCPMT / NEET UG exam is declared, the candidates have to register themselves for counselling.
  • This registration process will take place online through the official website of Directorate of medical education and Training i.e. www.upneet.gov.in.
  • In order to register, the applicants have to pay the fees of Rs. 2000/-.
  • After registration, the documents of the candidates will be verified.
  • Once the seat is allotted, the aspirants need to visit the respective institute to complete rest of the admission formalities.

  • Photo Identity proof (Aadhar Card/ PAN Card/ Driving License/ Passport)
  • Domicile Certificate

  • Printout of Online Counselling registration
  • Demand Draft of admission fee
    • 30000/- (for admission to government medical/ dental college)
    • 200000/- (For admission to private medical colleges)
    • 100000/- (In order to get admission into private dental colleges)

Note: The Demand Drafts should be drawn in favour of Director General, Medical Education and Training, UP, Payable at Lucknow.
