Calicut University Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are different for various courses offered by the University are explained below.

For Undergraduate Courses

• The candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
• Those students who have certificate with “Eligible for higher studies” issued by the Kerala State Literacy Mission are also eligible for Humanities and Commerce programs.
• Please note that the Afsal-Ul-Ulama preliminary course is equivalent to the 10+2 Humanities Group. Those students who have passed Afsal -Ul-Ulama preliminary are eligible for admissions Humanities and Commerce programs.
• Applicants who have cleared the higher secondary examination from Tamil Nadu (Private study) are not eligible for admission.
• Those aspirants who are visually or physically challenged are not eligible for the Geology programs.
• The visually challenged applicants are not eligible for science programs (involving practical), except for programs such as BSc IT, BCA, Bsc Computer Science.
• OBC/ OEC candidates will get a total of 5% concession in qualifying exam marks requirement.
• There are no minimum qualifying marks for the SC/ ST candidates. They just need a pass.
• While providing admission into the BA philosophy program, a weightage of 50 marks will be given to those students who have taken Philosophy/ Logic/ Psychology as an optional subject at HSE or equivalent level.

For PG Courses

• For admission to PG Course, the candidates must have passed graduation in a relevant subject.
• The minimum marks required in the graduation depends upon the program in which you are looking to apply.
