ULSAT 2022: Application Form, Exam Date, Syllabus

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) will be organizing ULSAT 2022 to select the candidates for various law courses offered by it such as BA LLB, B.Com LLB, BBA LLB, LLM etc. Candidates aspiring for admission in these programs should apply for the admission test as per the eligibility criteria laid down by the authority. Candidates can also opt to apply for admission through non-examination pathway i.e. via CLAT merit/LSAT merit or Board merit.

Eligibility Criteria for ULSAT 2022

Candidates can take reference from the ULSAT 2022 eligibility criteria given below to determine their status of eligibility for the exam-

Age Limit: Those seeking admission in LLB course should have been born on or after 1st October 2000.

For LLM: A candidate must have done LLB with minimum 50% aggregate marks. He/she should have scored at least 50% marks in class 10th and class 12th or its equivalent from a recognized board/university.

For LLB: Candidates must have obtained minimum 50% marks at Higher and Senior Secondary level (class 10th and 12th respectively).

ULSAT 2022 Application Form

The application form for ULSAT 2022 can be obtained through Post/Courier or via online mode. Those opting to fill the online application form should visit the official website of the UPES. The form should be filled very carefully as no editing request will be entertained after the form is submitted. The application form will include information like educational details, personal details, Address of the candidates, Choice of test center etc.

Applicants also need to upload the scanned photograph and signature in the online application form and paste the photograph in offline form. Students must pay the required application fee prior to the form submission. The details entered in the form should be checked thoroughly before making the final submission.

Applicants should pay Rs. 1750/- as the application fee either through cash or using credit card/net banking/debit card. For availing the prospectus cum application form through Post/Courier, candidates should pay Rs. 1850/-.

Syllabus

The syllabus of the ULSAT 2022 exam will be based on the basic law knowledge that a candidate must possess to make an entry in this field. Here are the topics they can prepare for crack the exam-

Language Comprehension: This part will assess a candidate’s English language skills. The questions can be asked on the topics such as one-word substitution, English grammar, antonym, synonym, sentence rearrangement, etc.

Quantitative and Numerical Ability: This part deals with the mathematical ability of a candidate i.e. how accurate he/she can solve the questions on the numerical aptitude. It will include topics like Percentage, simplification, profit and loss, probability, train, boats and streams, speed, time and distance, mixture and allegations etc.

Legal General Knowledge: This part assesses a candidate’s general knowledge pertaining to the legal matters and current affairs associated with it such as latest judgment by the Supreme Court on critical matters, history, polity, environment etc.

Legal Aptitude: This section will test the basic legal knowledge of the candidate such as fundamental laws, rights, duties, Parliament, different institutions etc.

Logical Reasoning: This section assesses the ability of a candidate to analyze, critically evaluate, and complete arguments as they occur in ordinary language. Candidates will be asked to comprehend a short passage, and then answer a question about it.

Preparation Tips for ULSAT 2022

  1. Collect the relevant and reliable study material for the exam before starting the preparation.
  2. Make a list of the topics to be studied as per the sections marked in the exam pattern.
  3. Prepare a daily study schedule of minimum 5 hours per day and stick to it no matter what.
  4. Build your vocabulary by reading the English newspaper or magazines.
  5. Practice qualitative aptitude questions and reasoning questions regularly.
  6. Solve mock tests to analyze your performance and improve it eventually.

ULSAT 2022 Admit Card

The admit card for ULSAT exam will be provided on the official website. Candidate needs to download the admit card and take a printout of it for further reference. The admit card is an important document and must be brought to the exam center or else the candidate will not be permitted to take the test. It is recommended that students also bring a valid ID proof along with the hall ticket to the exam venue for verification.

Result, GD/PI and Counselling

The result of the ULSAT 2022 will be published by the authority on its official web portal. Candidates who took the exam will be able to check their result. The result will indicate the marks scored by the candidates and his/her merit rank as per the performance given in the exam. Based on the merit rank, the short listed students will be intimated about the next course i.e. GD/PI session and subsequently the counselling round.

In the counselling, the selected students will be asked to indicate their preferred choice of course. They’ll be allotted a seat as per the merit rank and choice they gave during the counselling. Candidates will also undergo document verification phase where their original documents will be verified.
