Tripura University PhD Admission: Applications are invited by Tripura University from eligible candidates for appearing at the Research Eligibility Test (RET) examination to pursue Phd courses in the various departments.

Tripura University PhD Admission Important Dates (Tentative)

The tentative dates for Tripura University PhD Admission are provided below:

 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy prescribed eligibility conditions before appearing in RET 2022. The eligibility conditions are as follows:

• Candidates having a Master Degree with minimum 55% mark (50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category) in the related subjects or allied subjects from any recognized University or Institute of National Importance are eligible to apply for Ph.D admission in TU.
• Candidates, who have qualified UGC/CSIR (JRF) Examinations / SET / NET / SLET / GATE, are exempted from entrance exam.
• Candidates holding Teacher Fellowship or qualifying M.Phil Examinations will also be excused from Entrance Test.

Tripura University PhD Admission Application Form: How to apply?

Application form for RET 2022 will be available online only. No other mode will be entertained. In order to apply online, candidates need to register themselves first through online. During the registration process, candidates will be asked to enter a valid e-mail id and a mobile number.

After registration, a login password will be sent to the e-mail id or via SMS (specified by candidates). Using the same you can access and fill in the application form. Candidates should note down their login credentials for making future communication with the university.

Fill the application form carefully and accurately. Candidates need to upload a scanned copy of their passport size photograph and signature in given fields as per prescribed format.

Applicants will be required to enter their payment details. Candidates should pay Rs 300/ (Rs 200 for OBC and Rs 100 FOR SC/STPWD candidates) as required application fees through SBI Power Jyoti Challan (to SBI Account – 33798696060) or via online SBI I-Collect using Credit Card/ Debit/Net Banking. You can also download the SBI Power Jyoti Challan from the University official website.

Submit the duly filled in application form along with required documents online to “the Deputy Registrar, Academic, TU” on or before the due date.

Admit Card

Admit card for RET 2022 will be available online. Applicants will be able to take the download of the ‘Admit Card’ for Admission Test only after successful payment status verification. Candidates need to bring Admit Card along with any other photo identity proof at the examination centre.

Examination Pattern

The exam will consist of a total of 50 MCQs type questions of 100 marks. Questions in the written exam will be based on the Post-Graduate syllabus of the related subject of Tripura University. The passing marks for the Entrance examination will be 50%. Each correct answer will be awarded 2 marks.

Result

Candidate can check their result online through official website. Qualified students will be enrolled in the concerned subjects as per the availability of seats in respective PhD department.

Selection Procedure

The applicants, who successfully cleared the Written Entrance Test being a part of the Research Eligibility Test and others who are excused from appearing at the Entrance Test will be considered as applicants to appear at Viva-voce exam of 100 Marks in the related Department. The subject-wise Merit List will be made by the relevant Department on the basis of the result of Viva-voce Exam.
