TNEA Selection and Admission Procedure

The entire admission process of TNEA 2020 will be done through the counselling which will be based on the marks obtained by the candidates in class 12th or equivalent. The authority will publish a rank list of the candidates selected for counselling on its official website. Then the candidates will be sorted into groups and will go through the choice locking process to choose their preferred college and branch.

Seat allotment will depend on the rank and the order of preference of the choices made by the candidate. Therefore, choosing the right choices and ordering them properly is important. If a candidate is not satisfied with the seat, he/she may choose to appear for the next round of the counselling till he/she is satisfied with the seat allotted to him/her.

In the last stage, candidates must report the allotted college within the stipulated time to finish admission related formalities. Failing to report to the concerned college on time will result in cancellation of the seat allotted to that candidate.

TNEA 2020 Counselling

Candidates will undergo the counselling process for getting admission in B.Tech/B.Arch programs offered through TNEA. They will be divided into groups and every group will get a chance to participate in the process. The counselling schedule will be provided on the official website of the TNEA. Candidates are suggested to keep tabs on the same for fresh updates.  Candidates will be selected for the counselling based on the rank list prepared as per their class 12th marks.

Candidates need to pay a sum of Rs. 5000/- (Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST/SCA candidates) in the counselling. The amount will be adjusted in the tuition fee later on. After the payment, they will undergo the choice locking process where they need to set their preference for college and branch. A seat will be allocated to the candidates based on number of factors such as the preference made by the candidate, seat availability, rank in the rank list. After completion of the final allotment, the candidate needs to report to the concerned college to complete the admission formalities.
