Tezpur University was established on January 21, 1994,as an autonomous and residential Central University. The University offers various academic programmes such as science, technology and humanities, reflecting the objective of the University. At present, the University offers numerous undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. The University offers Add-on courses on Yoga and Violin too along with various courses through distance learning.

Tezpur University is a Central University which is located in Tezpur in the North Eastern part of Assam, India. The university campus is situated at Napaam about 15 km east of Tezpur where the headquarters of the Sonitpur district of Assam is located. Napaamis, in fact, a rural area which is surrounded by peoples of diverse caste, culture, religion and language. The Napalm campus of the university is spread over an area of 262 acres (1.06 square km). The campus is has been surrounded by pucca walls. The university is linked by a PWD road from the National Highway No. 37A which is nearly the midpoint between Kalia-Bhomora Bridge and Misson Chariali. Tezpur is well linked by road and rail network with the rest of the state and the country. Candidates can reach the Tezpur city through a tri-weekly flight between Kolkata and Tezpur.

Tezpur University Admission process

There will be courses where candidates will be eligible for direct admission through the merit list. The merit list will be made on the basis of the marks attained by them in the previous qualifying examination. However, the admission for many courses will be offered the after qualifying the entrance test which will be conducted at various centres.

The admission to the engineering courses will be offered on the basis of the JEE exam result.
