TANCET 2021: Admit Card(Out), Syllabus, Exam Pattern

Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test 2021 or TENCET 2021 exam will be conducted by the Anna University. Through this exam, the university will select the candidates for admission to various professional courses such as MBA, MCA, M.Arch, M.Tech, M.E. etc. The selected candidates will get admission into different colleges across the state of Tamil Nadu. The pattern and syllabus of the TENCET 2021 exam will be different for all the courses.

The candidates looking for admission through this exam need to fill and submit the application form in online mode before the last date. It is being notified that the application process will start from 19th January 2021.

Exam Pattern 

The exam pattern of the TANCET 2021 will be as follows:

  • Mode of Examination: Offline (Pen and Paper based)
  • Type of Questions: Objective type MCQ
  • Number of Question: 100 for MBA/ MCA and 115 for ME/ M.Tech/ M.Plan/ M.Arch
  • Duration of Exam: 2 Hours
  • Marking Pattern: 1 mark will be awarded for a correct answer
  • Negative marking: There will be no negative marking

Syllabus

The syllabus of TANCET 2021 will be different for various courses. The subjects for different exam are given below:

For MBA: Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability etc.

For MCA: Computer awareness, Logical reasoning, Quantitative ability, Analytical reasoning and Verbal ability and Basic sciences

For ME/ M.Tech/ M.Plan/ M.Arch: Engineering Mathematics, Basic Engineering & Science and subject selected by the candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for admission into different courses are given below:

For MBA: The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years duration with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for the candidates from reserved categories)

For MCA: The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for the candidates from reserved categories). The candidate should have studied mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level.

For Lateral Entry to MCA: The candidates must have a BCA or B.Sc. (CS/ IT) degree a minimum of 50% marks (45% in case candidates belonging to the reserved categories). The applicant must have passed Mathematics exam at 10+2 or graduation level.

For M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan: The candidates must possess a bachelors’ degree with relevant subjects and at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category candidates)

Application Form

  • The application process of the TANCET 2021 exam will take place online through the official website of Anna University.
  • To start the application process, the candidates first need to register by providing some basic details like Name, Phone Number and Email ID.
  • Once the registration process is completed, the candidates need to login to access the application form.
  • In the application form, the aspirant needs to provide all the required education, contact and personal details.
  • Along with the details, the applicants also need to upload the scanned images of passport size photograph and signature.
  • After submitting the application form, the candidates also need to pay the required application fee.

Application Fee

The application fee for candidates from different categories will be as follows:

For SC/ ST/ SCA candidates: Rs. 250/-

For all other candidates: Rs. 500/-

Mode of payment: The application fee will be paid online using a debit card, credit card or net banking.

Admit Card

  • The admit card of the TANCET 2021 exam will be released online through the official website.
  • In order to download the admit card, the candidates have to provide their registration number.
  • The information about the exam schedule will be available on the admit card.
  • No candidate will be allowed to take the exam without a valid admit card.
  • The admit card should be kept safe till the admission process gets over. In case a candidate lost the admit card then he/ she can request for a new admit card by paying Rs. 100/- in the form of a Demand draft in favour of “The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai 600025”.

Result

  • Soon after the commencement of the exam, Anna University will declare the result on the official website.
  • The candidates will be able to check their result by logging into their account on the official portal.
  • The mark sheet of the exam will be available 10 after the declaration of result.
  • The mark sheet will be required at the time of admission. In case of a lost mark sheet, the candidate can request for a duplicate mark sheet on payment of Rs. 100/-

Counselling

  • The allotment of seats will be done through the Tamil Nadu Common Admission (TANCE) Process.
  • All the candidates who will clear the TANCET 2021 exam along with the GATE qualified candidates will be able to apply for TANCA.
  • In the TANCA process, the candidates need to select the colleges for admission.
  • The admission will be provided after the proper verification of documents.
