Tamil Nadu ANM Admission 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to apply for Tamil Nadu ANM 2024 admission should meet the eligibility criteria prescribed below:

Age limit:

  • The lower age limit prescribed for admission to ANM colleges of Tamil Nadu state is 16 years.
  • Upper age of the candidates should not exceed 35 years as on the day of admission.

Educational qualification:

  • The applicants should have cleared their class 12th exam from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects.
  • Candidates of general category should have scored at least 40% marks in aggregate and those of reserved category need to obtain a minimum of 35% aggregate marks in their class 12th exam.
  • Those currently enrolled in class 12th who will clear the exam with the given percentage of marks in the year 2024 are eligible too.

Tamil Nadu ANM 2024 Application Form

The candidates can obtain the application form for Tamil Nadu ANM 2024 admission by visiting the official website of the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council www.tamilnadunursingcouncil.com. No mode other than online will be provided to the candidates to fill and submit the application form.

  • To fill the application form, the candidates will have to provide their basic personal, academic, contact and other details as asked.
  • Scanned copies of their photograph and signature of the candidates should also be uploaded into the form.
  • After providing all the details into the application form, the candidates should submit it online along with a prescribed application fee.
  • It is important to submit the application within the prescribed limit or else the applications will not be considered for further processing.
  • A copy of filled-in application form should be taken and kept safe by the candidates in case of future reference.
  • There is no need to send the hard copy of application or any other document to the Council’s office.

Preparation of Merit List

  • As per the details provided by the candidates in their application form, a merit list will be prepared.
  • The list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in their class 12th exam.

  • Process of counseling will begin after the release of the merit list and as per the candidates’ ranking in this list.

Tamil Nadu ANM 2024 Counseling Process

  • Candidates with names in the merit list will be invited to take part in the counseling process.
  • Details of the counseling process will be intimated to the candidates through the official website.
  • The candidates will be asked to provide their choice for nursing college at the time of counseling.
  • Documents of the candidates will also be verified and therefore they should carry all their documents with them while reporting for counseling.
  • Seats will be allotted to the candidates after verification of document and eligibility, on the basis of their merit and the choice provided by them.


Question 1: Is there any relaxation in the age limit prescribed for Tamil Nadu ANM admission?

Answer: The candidates belonging to reserved category will get a relaxation of 3 years in upper age limit. For such candidates, the upper age should not exceed 38 years. No relaxation is there in lower age limit.

Question 2: What mode will be provided for payment of Tamil Nadu ANM application fee?

Answer: It is possible that only online mode is provided to the candidates for payment of Tamil Nadu ANM application fee. Payment can be done using the facility of net banking or debit card/ credit card.

Question 3: Is there any admission test conducted for selection to ANM course of Tamil Nadu state?

Answer: No admission test will be conducted for enrollment to ANM course of Tamil Nadu state. Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of their marks in class 12th exam.
