About SKUAST

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology (SKUAST) was established in 1982 which is head quartered at Shalimar, Jammu & Kashmir. This is a state university various UG, PG and doctorate programmes in Agricultural Sciences and Technology. It has its various campus located sat the different places in the different cities of Jammu & Kashmir. The university which has been set up with the prime aim of Imparting undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate education in Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Sericulture and other branches of Agriculture along with the advancement in research in various fields of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and allied sciences. 

Campus

The University has various campuses at adifferent location and along with that, it has various research centres at all across the state. The campus is spread over an area of 90 hectares including farms of agronomy, horticulture, mixed species forest and forest nursery. The university has outstanding infrastructure and facilities for teaching and research in Agriculture and allied sciences. The university has 13 Research Centres/ Stations/ Institutes, 13 Krishi Vigyan Kendras and 01 Extension Training Centre placed in different districts of Kashmir and Ladakh Divisions of the State.

SKUAST Admission Process

The university conducts the entrance test which is known as the university entrance test (UET) for admission into different courses at the bachelor, masters and PhD level. Every student will be required to possess the qualifying degree and will be essentially required to take part and qualify the entrance test to be eligible to take admission in SKUAST.

SKUAST Placement

This university provides the elementary requirements of competent technical manpower in the field of agriculture, horticulture, forestry and several other associated sectors of the State. The university has produced approximately 4000 graduates from the date it has been established. The university has its own placement cell which organizes and arranges the professional training in the agricultural research and provides the infra for the conduction of placement interview.
