Sainik Schools Admissions 2022-2023: State-Wise Admission Process

Candidates who are aspiring to get admission in Sainik schools they need to appear for All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE). You can get admission into class VI & IX upon clearing the exam.  The application form for Sainik School admission 2022 is now open and the exam is scheduled to be held on 9th January 2022. One can purchase the prospectus-cum-application forms by paying Rs.550/- for General  & Defence category and Rs.400/- for SC/ST category.

The schools have to make their own arrangement for conducting entrance exam. The responsibility for conduct of the examination in respect of the following States and the Union Territories where Sainik Schools are not established will be that of the schools indicated against each:-

Quick Highlights about Admission

• Class VI question papers will be set in English and all other recognized official languages.
• The question paper for class IX will be set in English language only.
• Qualifying Marks for General and Children of Defence Services: 25% in each subject along with 40% in aggregate.
• Qualifying marks for SC/ST: Not prescribed. Admissions are offered to candidates based on inter-se-merit at the entrance examination within these categories.
• 300 marks are set for the written exam and 400 marks for class IX. The merit list would be prepared based on marks obtained by them in the qualifying exam.

Eligibility Criteria

The prescribed age criteria for Sainik School admission 2022 is as follows:

• Class VI: The age of a candidate should lie in between 10-12 years as on 31st March 2022.
• Class IX: The age of a candidate should lie in between 13 – 15 years as on 31st March 2022.

Registration Process for Sainik School Admission 2022

There are four steps involved in Sainik School registration process, have a look here:

• Registration: Complete the registration by providing few basic details such as your name, father’s name etc.
• Upload Photograph & Signature: You need to upload photograph & signature thereafter.
• Make payment: Further you need to make payment of Rs.550/- for General & Defence category and Rs.400/- for SC/ST category candidates. The fee includes prospectus-cum-application form.
• Upload Documents: You need to upload the following documents:

1. Birth Certificate: You need to upload Transfer Certificate issued by previous school, extract of date of birth entered in the service documents or certificate issued by Municipal Committee/Board/Corporation.
2. Domicile Certificate: You need to upload documents as issued by State Government.
3. Caste certificate: You need to upload document as issued by State Government.

Reservation

• 15% seats are reserved for SC category and 7½% seats are reserved for ST category candidates.
• 25% seats are considered reserved for children of service personnel including Ex-servicemen
• Out of the remaining, 67% of the seats will be reserved for boys from the State in which the Sainik School is located. Balance 33% left over of seats will be thrown open to boys from other States and Union Territories in the ratio of their male population. Any unutilized seats in this category will be merged with home State seats.

Admission Process

The admission to sainik schools in India is only confined to boys in class VI and IX standard. The admission of the boys in the school is granted on the basis of written examination, interview, and medical examination. The All India Sainik School Entrance Exam is conducted on the 1^st Sunday of January each year at different centers. The Sainik School of Lucknow conducts the exam. All the schools are affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi.
