RIMC Admission 2022: Application Form (Released), Eligibility, Exam Date

Admissions into Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) will be offered to the candidates on the basis of entrance exam. Candidates qualifying this exam will also have to clear a viva-voce and medical exam to be considered for final selection. The admissions are offered twice a year- January and July. Interested students can obtain the application form for RIMC Admission 2022 from the college after making payment of the application fee. • Only the application form issued by RIMC with original RIMC seal will be considered as valid. No photocopy or locally printed form will be accepted.
• SC/ ST candidates claiming for relaxation in application fee must also attach their relevant certificate along with the DD.
• The address to receive the application form should be written clearly in capital letters with pin code and telephone number.
• RIMC will not hold the responsibility for any postal delay and loss in transit of application form due to illegible or incomplete address.
• Wards of central government employees can take the exam and viva-voce at the place of posting of their parents.
• Qualifying all rounds of admission does not grantee the selection of the candidates.

RIMC 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The students must match the following eligibility criteria before filling their application form:

• Gender: Only boy candidates are eligible to apply.
• Entry age: The age of the candidates should not be less than 11^1/2 years as on the prescribed dates. Also, the candidates should not have attained the age of 13 years as on the specified dates.
• Educational qualification: Candidates should have passed or studying in class 7^th (VII) in any recognized school.
• Medical standards: The applicants should be medically fit in accordance with the prescribed medical standards.

RIMC Application Form 2022

The candidates will be able to obtain the application form along with the prospectus and booklet of old question papers from the Rashtriya Indian Military College.

The candidates will first have to make payment of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 555/- for SC/ ST candidates) as application fee.

Payment of fees can be done via a demand draft drawn in favor of “THE COMMANDANT RIMC DEHRADUN”, BRANCH SBI TEL BHAWAN, DEHRADUN BANK CODE 01576, UTTARAKHAND.

The demand draft along with a self-addressed slip should then be sent to the following address:

The candidates who successfully submit the application fee will receive their prospectus-cum-application form through speed post in the self-addressed envelope.

Once the application forms are received by the candidates, they are required to provide all the details as asked in the form.

Completely filled application form along with the important documents should be sent so as to reach before the final date.

The application form should be sent to the respective state government and not to the Rashtriya Indian Military College.

Important documents

The following documents should be attached along with the application form

• Two copies of application in duplicate in prescribed form
• Two passport size photographs
• Birth certificate of candidate
• Candidate’s domicile certificate
• SC/ ST certificate
• Certificate from principal of the school in original with photograph, attested and stating candidate’s date of birth and class in which candidate is studying

RIMC Selection Process 2022

The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in an entrance exam and viva-voce, followed by medical examination.

Written exam:

• Question paper language: The candidates can write their Mathematics and General Knowledge papers either in English or in Hindi.
• Total marks: The paper will carry a total of 400 marks.
• Qualifying marks: A minimum of 50% marks in each subject is required to qualify the exam.

Viva-voce:

The viva-voce will be conducted to assess the intelligence, personality and confidence of the candidates.

• Total marks: The oral exam will carry a total of 50 marks.
• Qualifying marks: A minimum of 50% marks is required to qualify the exam.

Medical examination:

Candidates who clear both written and oral exam will have to undergo a medical examination at the selected Military Hospital. Only those candidates who are found to be medically fit will be considered for admission.

Result

• Result of the selection process along with the joining instructions will be updated on the official website of RIMC.
• The selected candidates must join the RIMC within 10 days of commencement of term or else their candidature will be cancelled.

Fees and Scholarship

The application fee as subsidized by the central government was Rs. 42000/- per year (as per the previous year data). Along with this, a security deposit of Rs. 20,000/- should also be made at the time of entry. This fee will be refunded when the candidate passes out.

The meritorious candidates will be given scholarships by their respective state governments. The amount may vary from state to state and depending on the merit of the candidates in the entrance test. The scholarships amount may range from Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 20,000/- per annum.

Withdrawal of candidature

The candidates can withdraw their candidature from the college on request by parent or by the decision of college by paying an amount of Rs. 2876/- per week and the scholarship amount.
