Rajasthan PTET 2020: Application Form(Till 20 Mar), Syllabus, Exam Pattern

Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University (MDSU), Rajasthan will be conducting the Rajasthan Pre-Teacher Education Test (Rajasthan PTET 2020) to select the candidates for admission in B.Ed and integrated BA B.Ed/B.Sc B.Ed courses offered by the colleges in Rajasthan. Candidates can apply for the test by filling the online application form for the same. They should ensure their eligibility status before filling the form. The exam will be conducted on 10th May 2020.

Candidates should note that the PTET test will be organized in offline mode i.e. pen and paper-based mode where they’ll be allotted a question booklet and the answer sheet to mark the answers. Admission will be given based on the performance of the candidates in the exam. Application Form for Rajasthan PTET 2020

Candidates can obtain the online application form by visiting the official website of the University i.e. The application form must be filled very carefully as the authority won’t provide the correction window to make changes in the form once it is submitted successfully. It is recommended that candidates keep their documents and scanned photograph and signature ready while filling the application form.

Candidates will be required to enter their basic information such as name, gender, father’s name, religion, address, educational record, etc. The application form should be submitted before the deadline given by the University. No applications will be considered once the due date has passed. Candidates also need to pay the required sum as the application fee for the exam.

Application Fee

The application fee to be paid by the applicants applying for Rajasthan PTET 2020 is Rs. 500/- . Candidates can pay the fee using the debit card/net baking/credit card or via E-Challan of ICICI bank.

Rajasthan PTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria specified by the University for Rajasthan PTET are as follows-

Nationality: Only Indian Nationals can apply for the exam.

Age criteria: The age of the candidates must be at least 21 years old at the time of admission.

Qualifying examination: Candidates should have passed class 12th / intermediate/Senior secondary school examination or its equivalent from a recognized board. They must possess a valid bachelor’s/master’s degree from a recognized University with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% marks for those belonging to the reserved category).

Rajasthan PTET Exam Pattern

Candidates can go through the PTET exam pattern as provided below to know about the overall structure of the Rajasthan PTET 2020 exam-

  • Exam Mode: Offline (pen and paper based)
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Language: English and Hindi
  • Type of questions: Objective type multiple choice questions
  • Total number of questions: 200 questions
  • Marking scheme: 3 marks will be awarded for each right answer
  • Negative marking: There will be no provision of negative marking

Rajasthan PTET Syllabus

There is no specific syllabus prescribed by the authority for PTET examination. The topics to be prepared under the syllabus are general in nature such as-

Mental ability: This section of the paper will comprise of questions from reasoning, imagination, decision making, and drawing inference to name a few.  Candidates should prepare both verbal and non-verbal reasoning to crack this section.

Teaching attitude and aptitude test:  This part of paper will assess certain qualities in candidates which are essential for becoming a teacher. These characteristics include- social maturity, leadership, professional commitment, interpersonal relationship, awareness, communication etc.

General awareness:  This section will include the questions from current affairs, Indian culture and history, great Indian personalities, environmental concern and awareness, knowledge about Rajasthan etc.

Language proficiency test (Hindi/English): The questions in this section will be asked on vocabulary, functional grammar, sentence structures, comprehension, idioms and phrases etc.

Rajasthan PTET admit card

Candidates can get the admit card of the PTET examination by visiting the official website of the University. The admit card should be download and must be printed out. Without the admit card, candidates won’t be allowed to take the test. It is also mandatory for the candidates to bring a valid ID proof along with the hall ticket. The hall ticket should be preserved till the admission is done. No damage to the admit card must be done which can render it invalid. The admit card will be available to download a few weeks prior to the exam.

Result and Counselling

The authority will announce the result of the Rajasthan PTET 2020 exam through online mode. Candidates need to login into the website to check their result. The authority will prepare a merit list of the candidates based on their performance in the exam. Such selected candidates will then undergo the counselling process where their documents will be verified by the authority. They also need to state their preference of college from where they wish to pursue the B.Ed course. Only after document verification, the candidates will be given the admission in the course chosen by them during the counselling. Candidates need to report to the concerned college to finish the admission related formalities.
