Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities 2021

Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for minority students was announced by the Prime Minister of India in June, 2006. The scheme was launched for welfare of minority students who are economically weak and can’t continue their higher study. Indian Government is awarding scholarship to meritorious Students who want to take admission in Post Graduation from recognized institutes and colleges situated across India. Those students who have completed their higher secondary education from Government or private colleges can apply through its official website. Government wants to provide better opportunities for students who belong from economically weaker families of minority community and want to study in higher classes. After completing higher education, they can get job and enhance rate of employment and also increase their economic level.

Eligibility Criteria for PMSS for minority 2021

Interested candidates should read eligibility criteria for Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for minority. If they are fulfilling eligibility criteria, they can fill registration form to take benefits of this scheme.

  • Students must belong from minority community (Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, Sikh and Parsis or Zoroastrians) and have a valid caste certificate.
  • Students must score more than 50% marks or equivalent grade in previous year final examination of XI, XII, under graduation and post graduation for technical and vocational courses.
  • The annual income of the student’s parents / guardians should not be more than Rs. 2.00 lakh per annum.

Reservation for girl students

30% of total scholarship will be awarded to girls students who belong to minority community. If the seats are vacant, then remaining scholarship will be awarded to the boys candidates.

Rate of Scholarship

Below table contains maximum amount of admission & course or tuition fee provided by Indian government for minority students. The amount of scholarship is different for different level of education. Students should carefully read the table provided below:

In order to apply for Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme candidates can follow the procedure or steps provided below. It will help them to submit their registration form through the official website of PMSS.

  • Visit the official web portal of
  • Candidates can also click on link https://scholarships.gov.in/
  • Click on New User Registration link.
  • Read all important point and scroll down and click on Continue
  • Fill all required filed (marked with * symbol) of registration form.
  • You will get an application ID and Save it for future reference.
  • Your mobile will receive an OTP code.
  • Enter it and confirm your identity.
  • Login to your account again and fill up the registration form by providing contact and qualification details.
  • Click on Final Submit button, after checking necessary information.

Necessary Documents

Before filling registration form, candidates must ensure that they have all required documents. If not, please arrange them.

  • Institution verification form.
  • Self declaration income certificate of by the student.
  • Student must have scanned copy of passport size photograph.
  • Self declaration of community by student.
  • Resident Certificate.
  • Bank account details with candidates name.
  • Adhaar card for identity.
  • Fee receipt of current year.
  • Copy of previous year marksheet.
