Osmania University B.Ed Eligibility Criteria 2023

The candidates need to fulfill the criteria given below to be eligible for Osmania University B.Ed Admission 2023:

Nationality:

• Only the candidates of Indian nationality are eligible to apply.

Domicile:

• The candidates must satisfy the Local/ Non-Local status requirements as laid down in the Telangana Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order 1974 and amended from time to time.

Age Limit:

• The lower age limit for the B.Ed admission as on 1st July 2023 is 19 years. There is no upper age limit.

Academic criteria:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in any field with not less than 50% marks in aggregate is required.
• Candidates with bachelors in engineering or technology scoring at least 55% marks in aggregate are eligible too.
• The minimum qualifying marks for the candidates belonging to reserved category is 40%.

Subject choice:

• Mathematics: Candidates with a BA/ B.Sc degree with Mathematics as one of the group subjects or with BE/ B.Tech with Mathematics or BCA with Mathematics at Intermediate level as a group subject can opt for Mathematics as their B.Ed subject.
• Physical Sciences: The applicants who wish to choose Physical Sciences their B.Ed subject should have done B.Sc with Physics and Chemistry or allied subjects or BE/ B.Tech with Physics and Chemistry or BCA with Physics and Chemistry at Intermediate level as group subject.
• Biological Sciences: Those with B.Sc with Botany and Zoology or allied subjects or BCA with Biological Sciences at Intermediate level as group subject can select Biological Sciences.
• Social Studies: A BA/ B.Com/ BBM/ BBA/ BCA with Social Sciences at Intermediate level as group subject is required to be eligible for selecting the Social Studies as B.Ed level subject.
• English: Applicants with BA in Special English/ Optional English/ English Literature or MA in English can opt for English as their B.Ed subject
• Oriental Languages: All Candidates with B.A (Oriental Languages) can select this as their B.Ed subject.

Note: Those with professional and job oriented degree like MBBS/ B.Sc (Ag.)/ BVSC/ BHMT/ B.Pharma/ LLB cannot apply for B.Ed degree programme.
