NIT (National Institute of Technology) Pondicherry is a division of NIT, which is an autonomous educational Institution organized by Government of India. The institute came into existence in 2009 as a part of eleventh five year plan (2007-2012). It offers courses in four engineering disciplines such as computer science and engineering, Electronics and communication engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Along with that, it also offers courses in M.Tech and Ph.D. degrees. The institute is located in Karaikal, a place near Chidambaram South. Puducherry is the nearest domestic airport; Trichy and Chennai are the two international airports near to the campus.

Eligibility
NIT Pondicherry is offering full time and part-time Ph.D programmes in the departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Mathematics.
Ph.D in Mathematics
The candidates who scored 60% aggregate marks (first class) or equivalent CGPA of 6.5/10 and 55% aggregate marks of 6.0 in Engineering/Technology master degree discipline (or) Master Degree by research discipline, are eligible for applying Ph.D in Mathematics in NIT, Trichy.
Ph.D. degree in Science (Mathematics / Physics / Chemistry and English)
The candidates who belong to the SC/ST tribes, only needed 55% aggregate marks and the candidates belonging to upper castes must need 60% aggregate mark s. A valid score in national level entrance exams like GATE/UGC/CSIR/NET is required for the fulltime candidates.
Admission Procedure
The right candidates will be first nominated by the departmental selection committee, such nominated ones will later sit for the common written test that organize by the institute. On the basis of written examination score, the institute calls the students for a walk-in section, which will determine the final selection of candidates.
NIT Pondicherry BTech Admission 2022
Eligibility
Eligibility of the candidate is determined from the marks they scored in 12th grade, and JEE (Joint Entrance Exam). The candidates who scored a 40% minimum weightage in class 12th (or equivalent examination) and 60% to the performance in JEE (Main) Examination is eligible for applying in NIT, Pondicherry.
Admission Procedure
The institute will allocate seats for the students on the basis of the scores they acquired in the entrance examination and also on the basis of subject interest.
NIT Pondicherry MTech Admission 2022
Eligibility
NIT, Pondicherry offers M.tech in Computer Science since July 2014. The candidates who wish to join in M.Tech in NIT Pondicherry must have a valid score in the GATE examination. GATE is a national-level importance exam, co-ordinate by the Indian Institute of Technology in association with Ministry of Human Resource Development. Admission Procedure
The candidate picks the right student on the basis of GATE written examination score. On the basis of the score, the institute calls the candidates for appearing F to F interview secession. The finalist names will declare after that.
