The National Institute of Technology Patna (NIT Patna) is one among the thirty NIT institutes, working under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. NIT Patna is formed from the amalgamation of Bihar School of Engineering and Bihar College of Engineering. Officially, it was renamed to NIT Patna by the HRD Ministry of Govt. of India on January 28, 2004. The institute is offering graduation and post graduation courses in Architecture, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering.  Admissions to NIT Patna are based on the entrance exam results like JEE main, GATE, etc.

Undergraduate Programs in NIT Patna 

Eligibility

The Institute is offering courses in 5 disciplines, which are in the Engineering and Architecture department. A candidate who cleared out intermediate class level with an average of 50% marks is eligible for applying for the Undergraduate programs in NIT, Patna.  There shall be considerable mark liberation for the candidates who are belonging to SC/ST cast.

Admission

Admission of the candidates to the Undergraduate courses is on the basis of scores they attained in JEE advanced exam.

Undergraduate Programs in NIT Patna

Eligibility

NIT Patna is offering 2-year long undergraduate courses to the departments of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Nanoscience and Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Computational Mathematics.  Any student who cleared out engineering with at least 50% marks and having a valid GATE score is eligible for applying an undergraduate program in NIT Patna.

Admission

The institute allots seats to the candidates on the basis of scores they attained in GATE entrance exam. Also, there are some more factors like candidate’s academical performance, Cut-off mark analysis, and face to face interview performance, are also considerable for the admission.

Ms.C Programs in NIT Patna

Eligibility

NIT Patna is offering Ms.C courses in Physics/ Chemistry and Mathematics. The candidates who wish to apply to any of the Ms.C program must have passed a Bachelor degree in Chemistry/ Physics/ Mathematics with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) at a minimum 6.5 in the 0-10 scale grading system or not less than 60 % mark in graduation (in concerned discipline) from a recognized institute in India.  Also, there shall be a CGPA of 6.0 or 55 percent marks liberation can be expected by the candidates from SC/ST/PwD tribes.

The admission of candidates is primarily on the basis of scores they gained in the qualifying degree programme and the written test conducted by the respective departments of NIT, Patna.
