National Institute Of Technology Meghalaya is a ‘National Importance’ status attained educational institution based in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. The Ministry Of Human Resource and Development was sanctioned the organization in 2010, the classes were first started at the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat. Later in 2012, it setup own campus at Laitumkhrah, Shillong, of the North Eastern Hill University. They provide Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D courses in Engineering, Arts and Research disciplines.

Eligibility of Ph.D 2021 in NIT, Meghalaya

The Institute offers Ph.D courses in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and Humanities. The institute offers Ph.D courses in 4 different patterns such as Full Time, Sponsored, Project Fellow and part-time. The students having a master’s degree in appropriate branch of engineering/Management service/Technology/Science with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) are considerable for applying the course. The candidates who have been obtained 55% in their master’s degree are eligible for applying Ph.D in Humanities and Social Sciences. A 5% age relaxation can expect the candidates belonging from SC/ST/PD categories.

Admission Procedure

The eligible candidates must be appeared for a written examination organized by the Nit, Meghalaya. The institute shortlist the candidates on the basis of written test scores, later they will invite the shortlisted candidates for a face to face interview round.

Eligibility of Graduate Courses 2021 in NIT, Meghalaya

The institute offers Graduate level courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Civil Engineering and Mechanical engineering. Admissions to the B.Tech programmes are based on the JEE main exam scores of the candidates, conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).  The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) by Government of India has the right to choose the candidate.

Eligibility of Undergraduate Courses 2021 in NIT Meghalaya

NIT Meghalaya offers courses in 6 Engineering Programmes and 5 year integrated M. Sc. Programs like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology and Earth Science.

M.Tech

Maths/Physics/ Chemistry and Earth Science:

A BSC degree in Maths/Physics/ Chemistry and Earth Science with an average of 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10 or equivalent score). If the candidate is belonging to SC/ST tribe, 50% marks (or CGPA 5.5/10 or equivalent score) is enough for applying the course. The candidates can apply for the courses on online.
