NIMCET Syllabus 2021

NIMCET Syllabus 2021: All NIMCET aspirants must be aware with its syllabus as it’ll help them immensely during the preparation of the exam. We are describing contents of NIMCET syllabus, aspirants are advised to follow this to make their preparation level efficient. The subjects which are kept by the respective authority under NIMCET syllabus include Mathematics, Computer Awareness, General English and Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning.

Computer Awareness Contents (Total Number of Questions- 10)

Data Representation: Representation of characters, binary and hexadecimal representations, integers and fractions, binary arithmetic: subtraction, addition, multiplication, simple arithmetic, division and two’s complement arithmetic, floating point representation of numbers, truth tables, Boolean algebra, Venn diagrams

Computer Basics: Central Processing Unit (CPU), Organization of a computer, Structure of instructions in CPU, computer memory, input/output devices, and backup devices.

Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning (Total Number of Questions- 40)

Questions in this section will be on logical situation and facts given in the passage.

General English (Total Number of Questions- 20)

  • General understanding in the English language,
  • vocabulary,
  • Comprehension,
  • Basic English Grammar (like usage of correct forms of prepositions, verbs and articles),
  • Synonyms and Antonyms,
  • Word Power,
  • Technical Writing,
  • Meaning of Words and Phrases

Mathematics (Total Number of Questions- 50)

Algebra: Fundamental operations in algebra, factorization, expansions, simultaneous linear/quadratic equations, logarithms, indices, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices

Trigonometry: Simple identities, solution of triangles, trigonometric equations properties of triangles, heights and distances, general solutions of trigonometric equations.

Vectors: Position vector, scalar and vector products and their applications to simple geometrical problems and mechanics, addition and subtraction of vectors.

Calculus: Limit of functions, differentiation of function, continuous function, tangents and normals, simple examples of maxima and minima. Integration of functions by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction, applications of definite integrals to areas, definite integrals

Coordinate Geometry: Distance formulae, Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, equation of a line, and intersection of lines, pair of straight lines, equations of a circle, ellipse, parabola and hyperbola

Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, frequency distributions, Averages, Dependent and independent events, measures of central tendencies and dispersions

Set Theory: Concept of sets – Union, Cardinality, Intersection, Elementary counting; permutations and combinations.
