NEIGRIHMS Entrance Exam 2021: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Examination Pattern

Founded in 1987, North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences acronym as NEIGRIHMS, Shillong, is an autonomous government institute of having a distinction in Medical Education & Human Resource Development. The institute offers undergraduate MBBS and MD or MS courses that are recognized by MCI (Medical Council of India). It also offers programmes in nursing and related professions.

NEIGRIHMS organizes two entrance exams i.e. one for MBBS admission and another is for PG entrance admission. Both the entrance exams are hosted only for seats that are available to candidates of eight Northeastern states including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. NEIGRIHMS 2021 Application Form: How to apply?

For MBBS programme:

NEIGRIHMS application form 2021 will be available online from February 2021. Interested and eligible applicants can apply online for NEIGRIHMS MBBS entrance test 2021 as per the given instructions. No other mode will be entertained. Applicants ensure that they are entering right details prescribed in the form. After filling in all the details accurately, take a print out of the application form for further use. One applicant can submit only one application form.

After successful completion of registration process, download the e- challan generated on the site. Candidates need to Deposit the Rs 1,550/- as required application fee in any branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) via e-challan. The payment is to be made in the favor of “NEIGRIHMS Entrance Test, Nongmynsong Branch, Shillong. Keep the Applicant’s copy of the Challan for further reference.

After that applicant has to submit the ‘NEIGRIHMS copy’, a print out of the application and other important documents by speed post or by hand to The Examination Cell, Director’s Block, NEIGRIHMS, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong -793018 by the due date.

Important documents that are required to attach include attested copies of:

• Original bank e-challan (NEIGRIHMS copy)
• Attested copy of Permanent Residential Certificate/ Domicile valid for the year 2018, from the expert authority
• Age proof certificate such as Secondary School Certificate, High School Certificate, or Admit Card of Class 10th or 12^th
• Passing Certificate or Provisional mark sheet of the qualifying examination
• Mark sheet of 12^th Class board examination.

NEIGRIHMS Application Form for MD/MS:

Candidates can submit the Application form for PG entrance exam online only.

Applicants need to fill in the online registration form and then download the e-challan after successful completion of registration process.

You need to pay Rs 3,000/as application fee through e-challan at any branch of Bank of Baroda all across India.

Send the copy of the challan and print out of the filled-in form along with the required documents to the institute.

Applicants may pay the exam fee via National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) from any nationalized bank in India to the NEIGRIHMS account. The account number of the Institute is “30270200000005” and the applicable IFSC code “BARBOMAWDIA”. In this case, applicants will have to send the original stamps along with the application to the authority and keep its photocopy with them.

List of documents required to be attached includes attested copies of:

• Original bank e-challan (NEIGRIHMS copy)
• Attested copy of: Permanent Residential Certificate/ Domicile valid for the year 2021-2022, from the expert authority
• Age proof certificate such as Secondary School Certificate, High School Certificate, or Admit Card of Class 10th or 12^th
• Passing Certificate or Provisional mark sheet of the qualifying examination
• Mark sheet of all MBBS professional examinations including MBBS 1st, 2nd and 3rd year examinations.
• Certificate of rotating internship completion from the Head of Institution before the month of examination year.
• Medical Council of India Permanent/ Provisional Registration Certificate within the legitimacy period
• No Objection document from the Institution/ College (in case applicant has joined PG programme elsewhere) or from the company (if applicant is employed someplace). If not submitted with the application form, applicant has to present the no objection certificate during counseling.

NEIGRIHMS 2021 exam Admit Card

Both MBBS and MD/MS candidates can download their admit card from the official website after the release of official notification.

If a candidate appears in the examination hall without their admit card he/she will be not permitted to sit for the entrance test. 

NEIGRIHMS 2021 Eligibility Criteria

For MBBS Course:

• Candidates belonging to or having domicile of eight northeastern states of India, including Sikkim, are eligible to apply for the exam.
• Candidate should be at least 17 years old by December 31st of examination year of admission to the first year of the MBBS programme.
• Candidate must have studied in school or colleges in India for the earlier two years.
• Applicant must have qualified 12^th class board examination with English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and one other elective.
• They must have scored minimum of 50% marks in Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Botany, and English as individual subjects and minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
• Candidates who are waiting for their board results are also allowed to appear for the exam for provisional admission to MBBS course.

For MD/MS course:

Indian Citizens who are belonging to or have domicile/permanent residents one of the 8 northeastern states of India, including Sikkim is eligible to apply for the exam. MBBS graduates qualified from NEIGRIHMS are eligible for enrollment to seats kept for them.

Candidates must hold MBBS degree recognized by Medical Council of India and have done their one-year internship program on or before March 31 of the year of examination. Applicants completing their internship after April 30^th of examination year will not be considered.

Candidates must be permanently registered with State Medical Councils or MCI (or obtain registration within one month of admission to the MS/ MD course.

Candidates who possess MBBS or correspondent degree from a foreign country have to qualify the mandatory examination held by the MCI, done one-year internship training, and gained full registration by the month of examination year.

NEIGRIHMS 2021 Syllabus & Pattern

Syllabus

Yet no syllabus has been prescribed for NEIGRIHMS MBBS Entrance Test 2021 or PG Entrance Exam. For MD or MS seats, questions will be asked from MBBS syllabus. For MBBS admission, the questions will be based on science syllabus from Class 11^th and Class 12^th as prescribed by state board or the CBSE board.

Paper Pattern

For MBBS:

NEIGRIHMS 2018 MBBS entrance tests are held only in the English language. It is a single paper exam to be done in three hours duration. NEIGRIHMS 2018 MBBS Exam will be a CBT (Computer Based Test) with having multiple choice questions. There will be four choices in each question and candidates have to pick one correct answer. Each right answer will be rewarded with 1 mark. There is no negative marking in the NEIGRIHMS MBBS exam.

For MD/MS:

The question paper for NEIGRIHMS 2021 PG entrance exam will comprise 200 multiple-choice (MCQs) objective-type questions with one right response. Each right answer will be awarded with 4 marks. There is negative marking of 1 mark in the NEIGRIHMS 2021 PG entrance exam for wrong. No marks will be given for un-attempted questions.
