MU OET 2023: Application form, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern and Dates

Manipal University is the authority responsible for conducting the MU OET 2023 exam. It is a university-level exam organized to select the candidates for admission to various courses at UG and PG level. The admissions are offered in different specializations including engineering, management, applied sciences, etc. Interested candidates who are looking to apply will get the facility to submit an application form in both online and offline mode. The exam will take place online i.e. computer-based test mode. Aspirants must check the eligibility criteria very carefully. MU OET 2023

• Please note that the admission to medical courses like MBBS/ BDS/ MD/ MDS/ DM is not offered through MU OET 2023. Candidates looking for admission into these courses have to appear for the NEET exam.
• The candidates can apply either in online or offline mode as per their convenience.
• The university will allow candidates to choose the date and time of the exam through the slot booking process.
• In case of a tie in the B.Tech entrance exam, the authorities will select the candidate with a better score in Mathematics. If the Mathematics marks are also equal then marks in the physics subject will be considered.
• Candidates are requested to check the eligibility criteria before submitting the form because application fees once submitted cannot be refunded.
• Students appearing for the qualifying exam in the year 2023 are also eligible.

MU OET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria that a candidate needs to fulfill in order to appear for the MU OET 2023 vary for different courses. Eligibility criteria for some of the courses are as follows.

For all B.Tech Courses

• The candidate needs to pass the 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subjects as optional subjects with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Maths and any one of the optional subjects.

For M.Tech

• The aspiring candidate should have passed B.E/ B.Tech/ AMIET or equivalent in a relevant field of study with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

For BBA

• Applicants should have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks.

MU OET 2023 Application Form

The application form for MU OET 2023 exam will release in online mode only. Interested candidates may visit the official website i.e. www.manipal.edu to access the application form.  The details regarding the application process are as follows.

• To start the application process, the candidates first need to register on the official website of Manipal University.
• Aspirants need to enter their basic details like name, phone number, email address, etc. during registration.
• Once registered, candidates may log in using the credentials to be generated after registration.
• Then, they have to fill the academic, personal and contact details in the application form.
• Please note that details in the application form must be correct. Otherwise, the form will be rejected.
• Apart from the details, the candidates must upload the scanned images of the latest colored photograph and signature.
• For the submission of an online application form, it is mandatory to pay the application fee.
• Once you are done with submitting the form and fee, you should take a printout for the confirmation page and receipt for future requirements.

The application fees for MU OET 2023 exam are explained below.

• Application fee – Rs. 2000/- (Rs. 1400/- registration fee + Rs. 600/- exam fee)

Mode of payment

• The application fee can be paid online using a debit card, credit card or net banking.
• Additionally, applicants can also pay the fee via demand draft. The DD should be drawn in favor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, payable at Manipal or Udupi.

MU OET 2023 Admit Card

• The admit card of MU OET 2023 will be available after the slot booking.
• Please note that all the candidates need to download the admit card only from the official website. Authorities will not send an admit card to any candidate by post or any other offline method.
• Details regarding the examination timing, venue, etc. will be mentioned on the admit card.
• No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall without having a valid admit card.
• Along with an admit card, candidates need to carry one photo ID proof at the time of the examination.

MU OET 2023 Exam Pattern

The pattern of the exam depends upon the course for which you are taking MU OET 2023. The basic exam pattern for a few of the courses is given below.

For B.Tech/ B.Pharma/ Pharma.D

• Mode of exam: Online (Computer-based test)
• Examination Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes
• Type of Questions: Objective type multiple choice questions
• Total number of questions: 200

For M.Tech

• Mode of Examination: Online (Computer-based test)
• Type of Questions: Objective Type MCQ
• Number of Questions: 60
• Duration of exam: 1 hour and 30 minutes
• Marking Pattern: Each question will carry 4 marks. 1 mark will get deducted for every incorrect answer.

For BBA

• Examination mode: Online (Computer-based test)
• Type of Questions: Objective type multiple choice questions
• Number of questions: 100
• Examination duration: 2 hours

MU OET Syllabus 2023 will be according to the course selected by the candidate. We are providing the important topics from physics, chemistry, mathematics, and English subjects for B.Tech entrance exam.

Physics: Units and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work and Energy, Motion of System of Particles and Rigid Body, Gravitation, Properties of Bulk Matter, Thermodynamics, Behaviour of Perfect Gases and Kinetic Theory of Gases, Oscillations and Waves, etc.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question – 1: Do I need to submit both registration and exam fee at the time of registration?

Answer: Yes, you have to submit both registration and examination fees at the time of registration otherwise your form will be rejected.

Question – 2: Is there any negative marking in the MU OET 2023 entrance test?

Answer: It depends upon the course for which you are applying. For example – there is no negative marking for B.Tech/ BE but there is a negative marking for M.Tech. We request you to check the exam pattern of the particular course to verify the same.

Question – 3: Do I have to send the print out of the application form to the university?

Answer: Yes, if you are submitting the application fee via Demand Draft then you have to send a copy of the duly filled application form to the university.

Question – 4: When will I get the admit cards after slot booking?

Answer: You may download the admit card 24 hours after booking the slots.

MU OET 2023 Result

• The exam conducting body will announce the result of MU OET 2023 on the official website.
• The result card will contain information about the subject-wise and total marks secured by the candidate in the exam.
• In case of a tie, the candidate with a better score in Mathematics will be considered.
• A merit list will be prepared based on the marks scored by the aspirants in the examination.

MU OET 2023 Counselling

• After the result declaration, authorities will invite successful candidates to take part in the counselling process.
• The allotment of seats based on the marks scored will take place in the counselling process.
• When reporting for the counselling, the candidates have to bring their original documents for verification.
• The counselling process will take place in multiple rounds depending upon the availability of seats.
