Uttrakhand MBBS/BDS Admission 2021: Uttrakhand, which was earlier known as Uttaranchal, was separated from Uttar Pradesh in 2001. Uttrakhand is the finest destination for medical studies as it has various medical colleges which offer admission into the MBBS and BDS programmes. The admission into the MBBS and BDS programmes is offered on the basis of the marks attained by the candidates in the NEET exam 

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the NEET every year in the month of May and those who want to pursue the MBBS or BDS programme from the medical institutes located in the state of Uttrakhand can apply for admission. The result of the NEET is announced in the last week of June. Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical University (HNBUMU) releases the merit list of the candidates on the basis of NEET score. Further, candidates can take part in the admission counselling for admission into the medical courses of MBBS and BDS. The admission counselling is conducted through the online mode.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates are required to be an Indian citizen.
  • Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), who wish to pursue MBBS/BDS programme, can also apply for admission.
  • Candidates must have passed the 12th or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.
  • The age of the applicants must be 17 years on 31 December 2021.
  • The maximum age limit for admission is 25 years for general students and 30 years for reserved categories.
  • Candidates, who are appearing in senior secondary school examination, will also be eligible to apply for admission.

Admission/Selection Process 

  • The admission into the MBBS & BDS courses will be provided on the basis of the marks attained by the candidates in the NEET.
  • Candidates will be required to take part in the admission counselling after the release of the merit list.
  • The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
  • Candidates will be allotted the seats for admission in the medical colleges of Uttrakhand after the admission counselling.
