B.Pharma Admission 2022-2023: Course, Fees, Eligibility, Popular Entrance Exams

B.Pharma Entrance Exams will be conducted at different levels (National, State and University level) to provide the qualified candidates admissions into B.Pharma, D.Pharma, M.Pharma and Pharma-D courses. The students with interest in pharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry and drugs can opt for Pharmacy courses after completing their 12th or equivalent exam. In fact, after engineering and medical, pharmacy is one of the most sought-after courses after Intermediate.

The main purpose of the Pharmacy Entrance Exams will be to select the most capable candidates amongst the other to grant enrolment into the Pharmacy colleges all over the country. The exams will be conducted for undergraduate as well as postgraduate pharmacy courses. Basic Eligibility for B.Pharma Admission  2023

The candidates who have passed the class 12th exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology / Mathematics are eligible. The candidates who have done Diploma in Pharmacy can apply for lateral entry in B.Pharma courses.

For D.Pharma courses:

Those applicants who have completed their class 12th exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics are eligible for D.Pharma courses.

For M.Pharma courses:

The candidates who have successfully completed their B.Pharma degree course are eligible for M.Pharma.

For Pharma-D courses:

A pass in class 12th exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with a pass in D.Pharma from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India is required to be eligible for Pharma-D courses.

National Level Pharmacy Entrance Exams

GPAT

Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is a national level entrance exam conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to select suitable Pharmacy graduates for admission into the master’s program. The exam is conducted in online mode and the candidates interested in post-graduation in pharmacy can apply for this.

State Level Pharmacy Entrance Exams

Andhra Pradesh

AP EAMCET

To grant enrolment in the pharmacy courses offered by the different colleges situated in the state of Andhra Pradesh, AP EAMCET is conducted. The exam is held in multiple sessions and the interested candidates can submit their application from the month of February.

AP ECET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test)

The AP ECET (Engineering Common Entrance Test) is conducted to provide the qualified applicants lateral entry into the 2nd year of B.Pharma courses. The interested candidates can submit their application from the month of March and the exam is generally conducted in the month of May.

AP PGECET

For admissions into postgraduate pharmacy courses (M.Pharma), the AP PGECET (Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test) is conducted by the Andhra University. The interested and eligible candidates can fill the application form from the month of March (tentatively).

Bihar

BCECE (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination)

The BCECE organized by the BCECEB offers the selected student enrolment in pharmacy courses offered by different institutes of the state. The exam is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper based) and the candidates who satisfy the eligibility requirements can apply for this exam.

Chhattisgarh

CG PPHT (Chhattisgarh Pre Pharmacy Test)

The Chhattisgarh Pre Pharmacy Test is conducted by the Chhattisgarh Professional Exam Board (CPEB) to screen applicants for admissions in B.Pharma and D.Pharma courses. The entrance test is held in the month of April / May (tentatively) in the offline mode.

Delhi

Delhi CET (Common Entrance Test)

The Delhi CET selects the proficient candidates for admissions in the full-time diploma courses offered in the field of pharmacy (D.Pharma). The interested candidates can fill out the application form to appear for the exam, which is held in the month of May.

Goa

GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test)

The Goa Common Entrance Test is organized by the Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Goa with the aim to select candidates for admission in the first-year pharmacy degree courses (B.Pharma). The application form for this exam is made available on the official website in the month of April.

The admissions to diploma courses (D.Pharma) and second-year B.Pharma is offered on the basis of merit.

Haryana

Haryana DET (L)

The Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) conducts the Haryana DET (L) (Lateral Entry Diploma Entrance Test) to provide enrolment in the diploma course in pharmacy. This exam is only for lateral entry into D.Pharma and the admissions into the first-year diploma course will be offered on the basis of merit.

Himachal Pradesh

HP PAT (Himachal Pradesh Polytechnic Admission Test)

The HP PAT is conducted with the purpose of screening the candidates for admissions into diploma courses in pharmacy. The application form is made available in online mode most probably from the month of April. The HP PAT is held in the month of March.

Karnataka

KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test)

The Common Entrance Test Cell established by Government of Karnataka conducts entrance test to offer the applicants enrolment in B-Pharma, Pharma-D courses. The interested and eligible candidates can submit their application form for the exam online.

Maharashtra

MHT CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test)

The MHT CET is organized for offering the qualified candidates admissions into B.Pharma and Pharma-D courses in the pharmacy colleges of the Maharashtra state. The application form can be filled by the interested candidates in the month of January and the exam is held in the month of May.

Odisha

Odisha DET

The Orissa Diploma Entrance Test (DET) conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education & Training, Odisha has been replaced with the merit-based admission process. To select the capable applicants for admissions into Diploma in Pharmacy, a merit list is drawn on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying exam.

OJEE (Odisha Joint Entrance Examination)

The OJEE is organized to offer admissions in the pharmacy courses to the interested and eligible applicants. Separate application forms are released for first-year and lateral entry to the diploma courses (B.Pharma). The candidates can avail the application form from the official website in online mode only.

Punjab

PTU Entrance Exam

On the basis of merit in the entrance test conducted by the Punjab Technical University, the candidates will be provided admissions into B.Pharma courses. The candidates who wish to get admissions in affiliated pharmacy colleges of this University can submit their application.

Telangana State

TS PGECET (Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test)

The TS PGECET is a state-level entrance exam conducted for admissions into M.Pharma and Pharma-D courses offered by the institutions of Telangana State. The exam is supposed to be held in the month of May and the application form for the same will be filled in online mode from March onwards.

TS EAMCET (Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture, Medical Common Entrance Test)

For granting admissions into pharmacy courses in the colleges of Telangana State, the TS EAMACET is conducted. It is a computer-based entrance test which is generally conducted in the first week of May. The interested candidates can fill out the application form for this exam from the month of March.

TS ECET (Telangana State Engineering Common Entrance Test)

This entrance exam is conducted in order to grant the qualified candidates enrolment in the 2nd year B.Pharmacy courses in both University and Private Un-aided Professional Institutions approved by Pharmacy Council of India. The exam and the application form filling, both will be in online mode only.

Uttarakhand

UKSEE (Uttarakhand State Entrance Exam)

The Uttarakhand Technical University organizes the UKSEE to select candidates for admissions in 1st year as well as 2nd year pharmacy courses. The application form for the same can be filled from the month of April in the online mode.

UKSEE Advanced

The UKSEE Advanced is conducted by the Uttarakhand Technical University for admissions into master’s degree programme offered in pharmacy (M.Pharma). This exam is held in the month of June and those who clear the exam are offered enrolment in all the institutes affiliated to this university.

Uttarakhand Polytechnic (JEEP)

The UBTER manages the Joint Engineering Examination Polytechnic (JEEP) to screen candidates for admissions in diploma courses in the field of pharmacy. The admissions are provided to the qualified candidates into various pharmacy colleges situated in the state of Uttarakhand.

Uttar Pradesh

UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination)

The UPSEE is a state-level entrance exam organized by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) providing admission to UG course in the field of pharmacy. The admissions are offered in both 1st year and 2nd year (lateral entry) of B.Pharma course. The candidates who meet the eligibility requirement can appear for this exam.

UPJEE (Joint Entrance Examination (Polytechnic))

The JEECUP (Joint Entrance Examination Council, UP) selects the candidates for admissions into diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma courses) on the basis of their performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (Polytechnic). The exam is conducted in the month of April in pen-and-paper based (offline) mode.

West Bengal

WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination)

WBJEEB organizes the Joint Entrance Exam for admissions into undergraduate course in the field of Pharmacy. Admissions are granted into Govt. Colleges and Self Financed Institutes of the West Bengal State. The online application for this exam is released in the month of December and the exam is held in April.

University Level Pharmacy Entrance Exams

BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology & Science Admission Test)

The Birla Institute of Technology & Science offers admissions into undergraduate pharmacy degree programmes on the basis of BITSAT. It is a university-level exam conducted in the month of May for which the application form is released in March.

BITS HD (Higher Degree) Test

The BITS conduct HD (Higher Degree) Test for those candidates who wish to enroll into M.Pharma degree course offered by the institute. 50% of the total seats are filled on the basis of marks scored in this test & rest 50% through GATE / GPAT scores.

LPU NEST (National Entrance and Scholarship Test)

The LPU NEST for Applied Medical Sciences (AMS) offers the candidates to get enrolled in the B.Pharma course offered in the University. The candidates with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 can apply for this exam. However, the candidates with more than 80% aggregate marks may apply for direct admission.

All India Manipal Entrance Test (MET)

The Manipal University offers admission in Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), and Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharma-D) courses on the basis of All India Manipal Entrance Test. The interested candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria as well can apply for this exam.

The university also offers admissions in Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) and Lateral Entry in B.Pharma on the basis of merit.

BVP CET (Bharati Vidyapeeth University Common Entrance Test)

The admission in B.Pharma, Pharma-D and M.Pharma courses in the Bharati Vidyapeeth University is provided on the basis of CET. Separate entrance tests are conducted for undergraduate (B.Pharma and Pharma-D) and postgraduate (M.Pharma) pharmacy courses, both of which are held in June.

SAAT

The Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University offers admissions to the aspiring candidates into pharmacy courses. In order to screen the candidates, it conducts admission test and the candidates qualifying this test are considered for enrolment. Admissions into B.Pharma and M.Pharma courses are granted on the basis of separate entrance exam.

IPU CET (Common Entrance Test)

Guru Gobind Inderprastha University offers the interested and eligible candidates admission into its B. Pharma courses on the basis of entrance exam. The course is offered by the constituent colleges of this University. the candidates can submit their application form for the admissions in the online mode.

Delhi University Pharmacy Admission

The Du offers admissions into pharmacy courses on the basis of merit list prepared on the basis of qualifying marks. Admissions are offered in D.Pharma, B.Pharma, M.Pharma / Pharma.MBA in the Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University. The application process for the same starts in May.

VEE (Vels Entrance Exam)

The Vels Entrance Exam is conducted to grant enrolment in B.Pharma, Pharma-D, and M.Pharma degree programs. These courses are offered by the Vels School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The application form can be submitted until the last week of April (tentatively) and the exam is held in month of May.

KLEU AIET (All India Entrance Test)

The KLE University conducts All India Entrance Test in order to select the candidates for admissions into its B.Pharm, Pharma-D and M.Pharma courses. The courses are offered by the constituent KLE colleges and the interested applicants can submit the application online.
