OUAT Eligibility Criteria 2023: Eligibility for UG & PG Courses

OUAT Eligibility Criteria 2023: Candidates who are going to appear in OUAT Exam are required to first satisfy the important eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria of OUAT entrance exam is decided by Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology for all educational programmes. Academic courses for which eligibility conditions are prescribed comprise UG, PG and Doctoral courses for both boys & girls.

Eligibility criteria for UG programmes

B.Sc. (Home Science) 10+2 with no less than 50% aggregate marks (40% marks for reserved category). PCM or PCB

Note: Candidates who have passed OUAT Diploma in Agro-Polytechnic programme may apply offline for Admission into undergraduate programmes of their streams.

Following categories will be considered eligible for Undergraduate admission:

  • Applicants who have done H.S.C. / Equivalent qualification with Odia as M.I.L can apply.
  • In case of candidates who does not belong to Odisha as M .I. L., but their parents are permanent residents of Odisha can apply provided they need to produce evidence of their permanent residency issued from the Revenue Officer concerned not below the rank of District Magistrate / Tahasildar.
  • Candidates who did not possess Odia as M .I. L, but their parents are serving under the Central Govt. / Govt. of Odisha/ Public Undertaking or any University in the State of Odisha can also apply. However, applicants should produce a certificate to this effect from the Head of the Office /Institution where his/her parent(s) is/are serving.
  • Applicants from Odisha who are permanently residing outside Odisha must produce a certificate all for their Odisha origin either from their Employer / Tahasildar / District Magistrate of the District in which he/she is living. Certificate in this support can also be submitted from the Tahasildar / District Magistrate of their native place Odisha.
  • No confirmation to this effect will be considered.
  • Candidates who are VCI nominees / ICAR / foreign candidates/ NRI / State Govt. sponsored applicants/children of retired employees of O.U.A.T are exempted from above provisions.

Age limit

The applicant should have completed 17 years of age

  • Applicants should have scored at least of 50% marks in concerned Hons/Core/Major subjects. Candidates who have done B.Sc in Agriculture and related subjects and seeking for admission into M. Sc. (Microbiology), must have obtained minimum 55% marks in aggregate or OGPA 5.5 in 10 point scale or equivalent. In case of candidates from SC/ST category the minimum qualifying marks in concerned Honours subject is 45%.
  • Applicants who have appeared the examination but waiting for the results can also apply provided such candidates need to submit the mark sheet after the announcement of result or else the application for admission will be rejected.

Eligibility for PhD courses

Chemistry Must be done M.Sc in Chemistry with obtaining minimum 55% marks from any UGC recognized university
Physics Must be done M.Sc in Physics with obtaining minimum 55% marks from any UGC recognized university
Botany Must be done M.Sc in Botany with obtaining minimum 55% marks from any UGC recognized university
Zoology Must be done M.Sc in Zoology with obtaining minimum 55% marks from any UGC recognized university
Mathematics Must be done M.Sc in Mathematics with obtaining minimum 55% marks from any UGC recognized university
Microbiology Must be done M.Sc in Microbiology with minimum mark of 6.5% or CGPA 6.5 in 10 point scale from any UGC recognized university

Following categories will be considered eligible for Master’s programme admission:

  • Candidates who have done H.S.C. / Equivalent qualification with Odia as M.I.L are eligible for admission.
  • Applicants who did not possess Odia as M .I. L., but their parents are permanent residents of Odisha can apply for admission. However they need to produce proof of their permanent residency issued from the Revenue Officer concerned not below the rank of Class-II.
  • Candidates who did not possess Odia as MIL, but their parents are serving under the Central Govt. / Govt. of Odisha/ Public Undertaking or any University in the State of Odisha will able to apply for admission. Provided, they should produce a certificate to this support from the Head of the Office /Institution where his/her parent(s) is/are serving.
  • Applicants belonging to Odisha who are permanently residing outside the state must produce a certificate related for their Odisha origin from District Magistrate of the District in which he/she is living.
  • Candidates who are from ICAR / abroad / NRI Candidates/applicants choosing for admission to cost sharing seats of Ph. D Microbiology and M. Sc. (Microbiology) are exempted from all above provisions.
