Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria before they apply for admission to the MBBS and BDS courses. The details have been given in the following points:

  • Indian citizens and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are entitled to apply for admission to the Bangalore MBBS and BDS programmes.
  • Candidates must have done the higher secondary education from any recognized board of secondary education.
  • Candidates appearing in the 12th standard exam can also apply for admission through NEET.
  • Candidates must have obtained minimum 50% marks in the higher secondary school (12th) exam.
  • Candidates must have studied the subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) in the 12th standard exam.
  • Candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC, ST) can apply for admission with 45% marks.
  • Candidates of the SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH/GEN-PH category will be eligible to take admission in the medical institutes if they have obtained minimum 40% marks in the 12th standard exam.

Admission/Selection Process

  • The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) & Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the all India level counselling for MBBS and BDS admission.
  • The admission counselling will be commenced through the All India-level admission counselling for admission into the BDS and MBBS admission.
  • The Ambitious aspirants looking for admission into the medical courses need to take part in the admission counselling after the release of the result of the NEET.
  • The merit list will be made on the basis of the NEET score released by the CBSE.

Entrance Exam details (NEET)

  • The entrance test is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) at different exam centres all over the nation.
  • NEET is the exam which is the only criteria for admission into the medical institutes for MBBS and BDS courses.
