Candidates who would like to appear for AIPVT couselling process, they have to fulfill certain critera. This post will let you know about minimum eligibility conditions required to meet by general, SC, ST, and OBC. The eligibility includes details about age criteria, educational qualification, and nationality. Please go through the details and confirm whether you are eligible to appear for the exam or not.

Nationality Criteria

Candidates should have the nationality of India (excluding candidates those belong to Jammu & Kashmir). The candidates from State of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. course under 15% All India quota since the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 have not been extended to the State of Jammu & Kashmir. However, the candidates who are residing in the State of Jammu and Kashmir and not domiciled of Jammu and Kashmir and appeared in NEET (UG) 2022 desire to take admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. course under 15% All India quota shall have to submit an Affidavit in the prescribed format to the allotted Veterinary College at the time of admission.

Age Criteria

Candidates should complete the age of 17 years as on 31st December of year of admission.The upper age should not exceed 25 years as on 31st December 2022. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category will get relaxation of 5 years in age.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should have one of the following qualifications:

  • Candidates who have cleared the intermediate exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical test in these subjects and English as a core subject from a recognized board or university are eligible to apply. Or,
  • Candidates should have passed 10+2 Higher/senior secondary exam or Indian School Certificate exam or its equivalent exam with PCB (including practical) and any other elective subject with English.
  • Candidates belonging to General category are required to score at least 50% marks in the qualifying exam whereas this mark is 40% for SC/ST/OBC category students.

No candidates will be able to sit for the exam if they do not meet with criteria as we published above. If you apply for the exam even after hot meeting the requisite criteria then you application form will be rejected by the responsible authority.

Physical Disability

A candidate shall not be allowed admission to BVSc & AH degree course including those admitted under 15% reserved quota of VCI if he or she suffers the following disabilities, namely:-

(a) disability of total body including disability of chestorspine more than 50%,

(b) disability of lower limb of more than 50%,

(c) disability of upper limb,

(d) visually handicapped candidates and those with hearing disability,

(e) candidates with progressive diseases like myopathies etc.

(f) disabilities which otherwise would interfere in the performance of the duties of a veterinarian.

Note : The disability shall be certified by a duly constituted and Government authorized Medical Board comprising of at least three specialists out of which two shall be of the specialty concerned and the candidate has to present him or her-self before the Medical Board and the last valid disability certificate of the candidate from a Medical Board shall not be more than three months old from the date of submitting his or her certificate for disabled candidates.
