Founded in 1921, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi is an institution of national importance for offering higher education in diverse study disciplines. It is one of the well known educational institutions of Uttar Pradesh. The university was set up as an effort to provide more strength to India’s Freedom Struggle against British. It was launched by Mahatma Gandhi during the Non-Cooperation Movement of the freedom struggle on February 10, 1921

10+2 or equivalent examination with 50% aggregate marks (45% marks for SC/ST category candidates)
- Master of Arts – two years (16 courses)
Graduate with 10+2+3 system along with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST category candidates)
- Bachelor of Education – 1 year
As similar to Master of Arts
- Mater of Education – two years
Candidate must be Graduate and a bachelor degree holder in Education got through the 10+2+3 system or a correspondent qualification with at least of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities integrated by an act of the central or state government in India. There is a relaxation of 5% aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates.
- Master of Business Administration –two years (3 courses)
Candidate must be Graduate and a bachelor degree holder in Education got through the 10+2+3 system or a correspondent qualification with at least of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities integrated by an act of the central or state government in India. There is a relaxation of 5% aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates
- Bachelor of Commerce – three years
As similar to Bachelor of Arts
- Master of Commerce – two years

- Bachelor of Science –three years
