About Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education

The board is a statutory body that is established under the Maharashtra Secondary Boards Act, 1965 t and is formed with an endeavor to regulate certain matters relevant to secondary education in the state. The board came in to existence to supervise the working of educational institutes in Maharashtra that fall under its ambit. The board is responsible to devising the study material and successful execution of the exams. It strives to uplift the standards of education amid the weaker and backward sections of society.

Role of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education

The board is responsible for conducting SSC and HSC examinations. The results of the examinations are conducted in month of March are declared in the month of June.  The examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education are conducted throughout the state. The students studying in the Government run High schools are also required to give this examination for Secondary education as the admission to it is granted on the basis of merit marks scored by the candidate. The syllabus for SSC and HSC examinations is devised by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and is updated on the official site. The syllabus is revised each year in sync with ongoing education trends.
