MAH MCA CET 2022: Application Form (Extended), Exam Date (out), Eligibility Criteria

MAH MCA CET 2022 registration process has been started online from 17th March 2022 and will end on 20th April 2022. The directorate of technical education (DTE), Maharashtra annually conducts a state level entrance exam for admission in MCA program offered by the colleges in the state. Candidates must apply for MAH MCA CET 2022 in order to be eligible for admission in MCA program. Candidates can also apply under lateral entry admission to 2^nd year of MCA provided that they fulfill the eligibility requirements as laid down by the authority.

Candidates can apply for the exam through the official website of the DTE, Maharashtra. Only those candidates will be provided admissions who have qualified the MAH MCA CET 2022 entrance exam. A merit list will be prepared based on the marks scored by the candidate in the exam. Hence, candidates should prepare well for the exam in order to crack it.

Eligibility Criteria for MAH MCA CET 2022

The eligibility criteria for the MCA entrance exam is a follows-

For Maharashtra State, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant and All India candidates

• Nationality: A candidate should be an Indian national.
• Qualifying Examination: A candidate should have passed a bachelor’s degree in any discipline or its equivalent from a recognized university and have studied mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or graduation level.
• Percentage Required: A candidate must have obtained minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% marks for backward class and PWD candidates) in the qualifying examination.
• For lateral entry admissions: candidates should have done BCA or B.Sc (IT or computer science).

Note: NRI/OCI/PIO Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National can also apply for the exam and the eligibility criteria will remain the same for them except the nationality one.

MAH MCA CET 2022 Application Form

To appear in the MAH MCA CET entrance exam, candidates need to apply online by visiting the official website of the DTE. They first need to register for the exam by providing basic details, educational details and other important information such a mobile number, email ID.  Candidates should fill MAH MCA CET 2022 application form very carefully as once they submit the form, no correction facility will be provided to them. Applicants should also keep their scanned photograph and signature ready to upload in the online application form. They must pay the application fee stated by the authority in order to take the exam. Incomplete or applications received without the payment of the fee will be rejected by the authority.

Application Fee

General category candidates from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), J & K Migrant candidates need to pay Rs. 1000/- and reserved category candidates need to pay Rs. 800/- as the application fee for the entrance exam.

Mode of payment: The stated fee can be paid only through the online mode i.e. using net banking, credit card, debit card, cash cards, mobile wallets or IMPS.

MAH MCA CET 2022 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of the MCA common entrance test is as follows-

• Exam mode: online (CBT based)
• Exam Duration: 90 minutes
• Language: English
• Type of Questions: Objective type (MCQs)
• Number of Questions: 100 Questions
• Marking Scheme: 2 marks will be awarded for marking the right answer
• Negative Marking: 5 marks will be deducted in case the candidate marks the wrong answer.

Syllabus

The syllabus for the MCA entrance exam is designed as per the level of class 12^th. Candidate needs to study the concepts as per the syllabus prescribed by the authority for the exam.

Mathematics and Statistics: Coordinate geometry, algebra, differential equation, trigonometry, statistics and probability, arithmetic, set theory, Mensuration etc.

Logical and Abstract Reasoning: This part of the paper will test the ability of a candidate to apply logic to the questions in order to find the answers quickly. Questions will be based on the facts given in the passage.

English Comprehension and Verbal Ability: Vocabulary, comprehension, antonym, synonym, sentence rearrangement, sentence correction, words and phrases, jumbled words etc.

Computer Concepts: Computer organization, programming languages, data representation, computer architecture, operating system basics, etc.

Preparation Tips for MAH MCA CET 2022

Here are some useful preparation tips for the candidates to score good marks in the exam-

1. Prepare strictly according to the syllabus by going through the official syllabus prescribed by the authority.
2. Regularly practice mathematics and reasoning to improve accuracy.
3. Solve as many mock tests as you can for practice.
4. Improve your English vocabulary by reading English magazines.
5. Keep yourself motivated and stay away from distractions like phones, social media etc.
6. Maintain a healthy lifestyle and indulge in outdoor activities whenever you feel tired.

MAH MCA CET 2022 Admit Card

The hall ticket can be downloaded from the official website. Candidates must take the printout of the admit card and keep it safe till the admission is finished. They will also be provided an intimation about the admit card on their registered mobile phone and email id. Candidates can download the admit card by login into the website using their registration/roll number and password. They need to paste recent passport size photograph on their admit card. It is mandatory for them to bring the admit card to the exam center or else they won’t be allowed to appear in the exam.

Result and Counselling

The result of the MAH MCA CET 2022 will be published on the official website of the DTE, Maharashtra. Candidates can check their scores form the web portal. A merit list will also be displayed along with the result where the names of the candidates shortlisted for admission will be displayed. Such candidates will be invited for the counselling where they will be allotted a seat in a college as per their merit rank.
