The Institution was established with the help of WORD BANK and now it is serving as the Self- Financed College. The Institute is providing 4 B. Tech Degree Programs, 8 M. Tech Degree Programs and 3 Ph. D programs.
The University of Engineering and Technology is located in the Campus of Kurukshetra University, along with the holy bank of the Brahmasarovar. The Campus of the Institution is located in Thanesar, Kurukshetra, Haryana at the distance of 175 km from the New Delhi and 100 km from the Chandigarh.
This University institution is working as the Nodal Agency for the matters of academic excellence like syllabus, academic plan and scheme of examination and maintenance of standards in affiliated Engineering College. The College is affiliated with the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

- For the admission in the Under Graduate courses, the candidates must have passed the 12th class examination with Math and Physics as the compulsory subjects and Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnology.
- For taking the lateral entry into the UG courses provided by the Institution, candidates must have the diploma in Engineering/Technology with at least 45% marks.

- The Admission into the M. Tech program will be done on the basis of ‘Gate Score’ as well as through the ‘Institute Level Entrance Test’ conducted by the University.
