KV Admission 2021: Class 1 Merit List May Release After 30th April

KV Admission 2021: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan conducts the admission process for selection of candidates into KVs all over the country. Admissions are granted from class I to class XII depending on the number of vacancies arising in each class and other criteria as applicable. Application form for class I admissions will release online on 1st April 2021 while for other classes, the form will be made available offline on 8th April 2021. KVS New Notification

Class 1 First Merit List is not releasing on 23rd April 2021. It has been postponed to a later date which will be announced shortly at KVS official website.

The online application for KVS class 1 admission has been released on 1st April 2021 for the academic session 2021-2022.

KV Admission Eligibility Criteria 2021

The minimum and maximum age requirements (as on 31st March 2021) for admission to different classes of Kendriya Vidyalayas are given below:

KV Admission 2021 Application Form

For class I:

Parents can apply for admission of their wards in Kendriya Vidyalaya through online mode. Application for class Nursery admission will be made available on the official website of KVS kvsangathan.nic.in.

  • The first step towards application is registration. In the registration form, basic details of the students like name, date of birth, email id, phone no., etc will be asked.
  • Once the registration form is submitted successfully, an OTP will be sent on the registered phone number. After verification of OTP, registration will be considered as final.
  • Upon registration, the application form can be obtained and filled by providing rest personal details of the candidates.
  • Scanned copies of documents like photograph and birth certificate should also be uploaded into application form.
  • After providing all the details into the application form, the parents can submit it online.
  • Upon submission, an application number will be generated that should be kept safe by the parents for future reference.

For class II onwards:

  • Parents can obtain the application form by visiting the Principal’s office of any Kendriya Vidyalaya.
  • Application form can be filled by providing basic personal and academic details of the candidates.
  • Duly filled application form should be submitted along with the copies of the important documents to the same KV.
  • A copy of the duly-filled application form should also be kept by the parents for further correspondence.

Important Documents

The following documents (attested photocopies) should be submitted along with the application form:

  • Proof of age in the form of a birth certificate issued by the authority competent to register births
  • A proof of relationship for grandchildren of Hon’ble Member of Parliament, PSU employees and KVS employee
  • Category certificate for SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL/ EWS/ BPL
  • Disability certificate from a civil surgeon/rehabilitation centre or any other competent authority
  • A service certificate showing the number of transfers during the preceding 7 years
  • Certificate of retirement for uniformed Defence employees
  • Proof of residence

Publication of Selection List

  • A list of successfully registered candidates will be drawn and made available on the official website of KVS.
  • The list will also be made available on the notice boards of all Kendriya Vidyalayas.
  • Further process of admission will be carried out as per the names of the candidates in this selection list.

KV Admission Process 2021

  • Class I: Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of priority category system. For seats under RTE provision, selection of students will be done by drawing of lots.
  • Class II to VIII: Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of Priority category system. If applications are more than the number of seats, lottery system will be followed.
  • Class IX: Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in admission test conducted by the KVS. Knowledge of candidates in subjects of Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science and Science will be assessed.
  • Class X: Candidates with at least 55% marks in class IX can apply for admission in case there is any vacancy available.
  • Class XI: Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in board exams. For Science stream a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all subjects, 55% for Commerce stream and passing marks for Humanities stream is required.
  • Class XII: Candidates with at least 55% marks in class XI can apply for admission in case there is any vacancy available.

KV Admission 2021 FAQs

Can a candidate provide his/ her choice for Kendriya Vidyalaya?

Choice for KV (maximum 3) in which admission is sought should be provided at the time of filling the application form.

Is there any relaxation in the age limit prescribed for admission?

A relaxation of 2 years in the upper age limit will be given to the candidates belonging to differently abled category.

What is the mode of admission to different classes in KVs?

Admissions in class I are done through online mode & for other classes it is offline.

For a KV student applying for admission in class XI, is there any relaxation?

A relaxation of 5% marks in board exams will be given to the KV student applying for admission in class XI.

Is it true that there is special provision for admission of certain candidates?

Special provision will be given to candidates belonging to the categories mentioned below. Students of these categories will be granted admission over the class strength as well.

  • Children and dependent grandchildren of Hon’ble Members of Parliament
  • Children and grandchildren of serving and retired KVS employees (for class IX, the child has to clear the admission test)
  • Children of Central Government employees who died in harness
  • Children of recipients of military decoration, Sena Medal (Army), Nav Sena Medal (Navy), Vayu Sena Medal (Air Force)
  • Children of recipients of President’s Police & Police medal for gallantry
  • Meritorious sports children who have secured I, II & III position in SGFI/ CBSE/ National/ State level games organized by the Government
  • Recipients of Rashtrapati Puraskar in Scouts & Guides
  • Single girl children in class I and from class VI onwards
  • Recipients of National Bravery or Balshree Award
  • Children whose parent is a teacher and is a recipient of National Award for teachers
  • Children who have shown special talent in Fine Arts at National or State level
  • Children of employees of the Ministry of HRD
  • Children of employees of Ministry of External Affairs
  • Children of the employees of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW)
  • Children of Sponsoring Agency
  • Students recommended by Hon’ble Member of Parliament

    • Class 6 application form would be released in offline mode if the vacancy exist. Admissions would be based on priority category system.
