KLEE 2022: Application Form, Syllabus, Eligibility Criteria

KLEE 2022 will be conducted by the commissioner of entrance examination (CEE), Kerala through which candidates can get admission into various law courses in four govt. law colleges and in the private law colleges in Kerala. The courses offered through the entrance examinations are three years of LLB, five years of integrated LLB and LLM. Interested candidates must apply for the entrance test in order to be eligible for admission through KLEE.

Eligibility Criteria for KLEE 2022

The eligibility criteria for different Law courses are-

Nationality and Domicile: An applicant should be an Indian National and should satisfy the local/non-local status of Kerala.

For LLB (3 Years): Candidates who have passed a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with minimum 45% marks (40% for those belonging to SC/ST categories and 42% for EBC category). Those appearing in the final year can also apply.

For LLB (Integrated): A candidate should be a minimum 17 years old as on 31st December 2022. Candidates should have passed a class 12th from a recognized board with minimum 45% marks (40% for those belonging to SC/ST categories and 42% for EBC category). Those appearing in class 12th can also apply.

For LLM: An applicant should be of Kerala Origin and should have passed LLB Examination with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university. Those appearing in the final year are also eligible.

KLEE 2022 Application Form

Candidates can apply for the KLEE 2022 only through the online mode by visiting the official website of Kerala CEE. First, they need to register themselves for the exam by providing their basic details such as Email ID, Name, Phone Number etc. Candidates should note down the application number generated after registration for future logins. After getting the unique application no., applicants need to proceed for the application form filling. The form must be filled correctly and carefully.

No modification after the final submission of the form will be entertained by the authority. After that, the applicants need to pay the required application fee for appearing in the exam. They should keep the scanned photograph and signature and other documents handy. Applications received without the application fee will be rejected.

Given below is the application fee to be paid by the candidates for admission into LLB, LLB (integrated), and LLM courses –

For LLB (3 years)/ LLB (integrated): General category candidates need to pay Rs. 600/- and those from SEBC category need to pay Rs. 300/-. The payment can be made via online mode or through E-Challan by depositing the cash at any Head Post Offices in Kerala.

For LLM: General category candidates need to pay Rs. 800/- and those from SEBC category need to pay Rs. 400/-. The payment can be made via online mode or through E-Challan by depositing the cash at any Head Post Offices in Kerala.

KLEE 2022 Exam Pattern

Given below is the exam pattern for KLEE exam-

  • Exam Mode: Offline (Pen and Paper based)
  • Exam Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes
  • Type of Questions: Objective Type (MCQs)
  • Marking Scheme: +3 marks will be awarded for each right answer
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer

Syllabus

Given below is the syllabus for KLEE 2022 Examination-

For LLB: The syllabus will be based on general English, G.K, legal aptitude and studies and will comprise of questions like-

General English: English Grammar, Fill in the blanks, Jumble words, one word substitution, sentence rearrangement, Antonym, Vocabulary, Synonym, etc.

General Knowledge: Indian History, Polity, Economics, Science and Technology, Environment, Current Affairs etc.

Legal Aptitude and Studies: Decision making, Analogy, Classification, Puzzle, Fundamental Rights and Duties, Articles, Constitution, Parliament and Composition, Famous Judgments etc.

For LLM: The syllabus will be based on the curriculum prescribed for the LLB. Candidates can prepare from the subjects taught during LLB.

Preparation Tips for KLEE 2022

Given below are some useful preparation tips with the help of which a candidate can fetch good marks in the entrance exam-

  • Develop a habit of reading the newspaper every day to stay updated on the current affairs.
  • Collect the necessary preparation books as per your convenience.
  • Study at least for the 6 hours daily for the exam.
  • Devote equal time to all the subjects.
  • Practice mock papers to know your performance and improve it thereby.
  • Have a healthy discussion over the matters concerning the landmark judgments made by the Apex court/High Court with your friends and family to develop a perspective on certain matters.
  • Watch news channels to gain an insight into different pressing national/international issues.

KLEE 2022 Admit Card

The admit card for the respective law courses can be obtained from the official website. No admit card shall be sent via post or any method other than the online one. Applicants should take a printout copy of the admit card and keep it safe till the admission is over. They must bring the hall ticket to the exam venue otherwise they won’t be allowed to appear for the exam. Applicants should keep regular tabs on the official website for admit card related updates.

KLEE Result and counselling

Candidates can check their KLEE 2022 result through the official website of the Kerala, CEE. A merit list will be prepared for the shortlisted candidates on the basis of the marks obtained by them in the entrance exam. Selected candidates will be called for the counselling process where they need to indicate their preference for course and college. The authority will allot a seat to the candidates based on their merit rank, seat availability and the preference given by them during the counselling. Candidates need to report to the concerned college to finish the formalities pertaining to the admission.
