Kerala Polytechnic 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Nativity:

  • The candidate should be a citizen of India and a native of Kerala.
  • Those who have cleared the qualifying exam from an institution in Kerala or whose parent are a permanent employee in Central/ State/ Quasi Government/ Public Sector undertaking in Kerala State are eligible too.

Academic qualification:

  • Candidates should have passed their SSLC exam with Mathematics, English and Science subjects to be eligible for both stream I and stream II.
  • Candidates who have passed their SSLC exam with Mathematics and English are eligible to apply for stream II.

Others:

  • Candidate who has taken more than two chances to clear the qualifying exam are not eligible.
  • Those appearing in the SSLC exam in the year 2023 are eligible to apply too.

Kerala Polytechnic 2023 Application Form

Interested candidates will be able to fill their Kerala Polytechnic 2023 application form through online mode. Application forms will be made available on the official website www.polyadmission.org.

  • To fill the application form, the candidates will have to enter their basic personal details like name, category, gender, date of birth, etc.
  • Academic details related to the SSC exam such as marks obtained, board name, passing year, etc will also be asked in the application form.
  • The candidates will have to exercise their options, in the order of their preference in the application form.
  • After providing these details into the application form, the candidates need to submit it online.
  • Upon submission, a printout of the application form should be taken and sent to the nearest Government/ Aided Polytechnic College along with relevant documents.
  • Polytechnic officials will register the application only after proper verification of data furnished by cross checking with the copies of the certificate produced.
  • A registration number will be issued from the Polytechnic College office after registering the application.

Application fee:

  • While submitting the hard copy of the application form, the candidates also need to submit a prescribed amount of application fee.
  • For general/ OBC candidates, the application fee will be Rs. 150/- and for SC/ ST candidates, the fee will be Rs. 75/-.

  • SSLC certificate showing the place of birth of candidate or of either parents or passport of candidate showing the place of birth or birth certificate of candidate or either of the parents or certificate of residence to the effect that the candidate has been a resident of Kerala state SSLC certificate to show that the candidate has cleared the qualifying exam after studying 8th to 10th standard from an institution in Kerala or certificate issued by the employer that any of the parents of the candidate is working in Central/ State/ Quasi Government/ Public Sector Undertaking
  • Non-creamy layer certificate or community certificate and income certificate for SEBC candidates
  • Community certificate, for SC/ ST candidates

Kerala Polytechnic 2023 Merit List Preparation

  • A merit list of all those who have registered successfully for Kerala Polytechnic will be prepared by the authorities.
  • The list will be prepared on the basis of marks of the candidates in the qualifying examination.
  • For stream I, the list will be prepared on the basis of marks of the candidates in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry.
  • For stream 2, the list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in English and Mathematics.
  • Candidates can check this list from the official website and if any correction required should report to the Principal of the Government/ Aided Polytechnic College where the hardcopy of the application was submitted within 3 days after publication of the list.

  • Admission of the candidates will be done on the basis of the final allotment lists prepared by the authorities.
  • Those not satisfied with the allotment can retain their seat and take part in the further rounds of allotment.
  • If a candidate does not join in the allotted option within the stipulated time or do not retain the allotment, the allotment will be cancelled and he/ she will be considered for higher options only.
  • Candidates who are allotted a seat in the final allotment need to report to the allotted institute for the counselling process and complete the formalities of admission.
