KEAM eligibility criteria involves certain conditions that a candidate has to qualify in order to appear for the exam. KEAM is a state level entrance exam conducted annually by Commissioner of Entrance Examination, Kerala for enrollment in various disciplines of Engineering, Architecture, MBBS, BDS and so on. Candidates need to go through their eligibility status before proceeding for the application form. KEAM Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the exam. However, PIO/OCI can also apply but they will get admission for a limited purpose.
Domicile/Nativity
Candidates should carefully identify their category based on which admissions will be provided to them. The categories are –
- Keralite
- Non-Keralite (Category-I)
- Non-Keralite (Category-II).
Keralite: A candidate will belong to this category if-
- He/she is of Kerala origin.
- Whose parents are non-Keralite and are serving as All India Service Officers in Kerala.
However, these candidates will not be eligible for reservation or fee concessions.
Non-Keralite (Category-I): Candidates will belong to this category if he/she is not of Kerala origin but-
- Candidate is pursuing the qualifying course in Kerala. His/her parents are non-Keralite and are posted in Kerala to serve Indian Government/ Defense Service.
- Candidate is pursuing the qualifying course in Kerala. His/her parents are non-Keralite and are serving the Government of Kerala for a minimum period of 2 years.
- Those whose origin is not Kerala but they have been the resident of it for 5 years from their 12 years of study period.
- Candidates who are not of Kerala origin but they have completed their study from class 8th to 12th from it.
Note: Non-Keralite (Category-I) will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.
Non-Keralite (Category-II): A candidate who does not belong to either to the category of Keralite or Non-Keralite (Category-I) will fall under this category but they will be able to get admission under Government Seats or Management Quota.
Note:
- Candidates from this category will be considered for admission to the Government seats in Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges only when the Keralite and Non-Keralite I candidates are not available for admission.
- Non-Keralite (Category-II) will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/ Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.
Age Criteria
A candidate must be at least 17 years on the 31st December 2022. There will be no upper age limit for Engineering, Agriculture and B.Pharma courses. However, for the Medical and Allied course the upper age limit will be as per NEET-UG.

• Candidates who have passed HSC with 50% marks in Mathematics separately and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together. • Candidates who have passed with 45% aggregate will be eligible for the admission under management quota. • If the candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science, the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Biotechnology, the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered. |

Candidate who have passed HSC from Kerala or equivalent exam with 50% marks in Biology separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together. |
| BUMS |
Candidate must have passed class 12th or its equivalent exam with 50% aggregate marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and 50%marks in Biology separately. Candidate should have cleared class 10th with Urdu /Arabic/ Persian language as a subject or clear the test of Urdu in the Entrance Examination conducted by the University or Board or Registered Society validated by the Government OR They have cleared pre-Tib examination of one-year. |

Candidates who have cleared HSC from Kerala with 50% marks in Biology separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology together. |

Candidates who have passed the 12th or equivalent examination from recognized Board with Mathematics and securing 50% marks in aggregate. OR they have done10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central/State Governments with 50%aggregate marks with Mathematics as one of the subjects of the examination. OR They have done International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with minimum 50% aggregate and they should have Mathematics as a compulsory subject. Note: candidate should possess a valid NATA score. |
| B.Pharma | Candidates who have passed HSC or its equivalent from Kerala with 50% marks in Biology/Mathematics separately and 50% marks in Physics, chemistry or Biology/Mathematics taken together. |
Marks relaxation for Socially Backward Candidates
- Candidates belonging from socially and educationally backward communities need to only pass in the qualifying examination. They need 45% marks in Mathematics/Biology and 45% marks in Mathematics/Biology, Physics and Chemistry put together.
- However, for admission to MBBS/BDS courses, candidates belonging to SC/ST categories will need 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology put together in the qualifying examination.
Marks relaxation for Physically Disabled Candidates
The candidates belonging to PD category will get a relaxation of 5 % marks in the qualifying examination for Engineering and Medical Allied Courses. They need 45 % marks in Mathematics/Biology and 45 % marks in Mathematics/Biology, Physics and Chemistry put together.
