Karnataka PGCET 2023: Application Form, Exam Date, Syllabus

Karnataka PGCET 2023 stands for Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test 2023. It is a combined entrance exam conducted to shortlist the candidates for admission into MBA/ MCA/ ME/ M. Tech/ M. Arch courses. A large number of government and private colleges in Karnataka going to participate in this exam. Please note that through this exam, admission to both part-time and full-time courses will be provided. Karnataka PGCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria in order to appear for the examination depends upon the course in which the candidate is looking for admission.

General Eligibility (Common for all the courses)

  • The aspirants must have passed the qualifying exam from an institute located in the state of Karnataka.
  • Those who haven’t passed the qualifying exam from Karnataka but studied in Karnataka for the duration of a minimum of 7 years can also apply.
  • Wards of those ex-servicemen who have declared Karnataka as their home/ home town at the time of Joining can also apply.

Educational Qualification

MBA (Full Time)

  • Aspirants must possess a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST and Category – I of Karnataka)
  • Aspirants should also have work experience of at least 3 years after completing graduation.
  • Please note that the organization in which the candidate is working should be the range of 40 kms from the institute.

MCA (Full time)

  • Candidates should have passed the graduation exam with Mathematics/ Computer science/ Computer Application/ Statistics/ Business Mathematics/ Computer programming/ Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects.
  • Applicants also need to have a minimum of 50% in graduation degree exam (45% for SC/ ST/ Category).
  • Aspirants should have passed any of the above subjects with a minimum of 50% marks at 10+2 level (45% for reserved category candidates)

ME/ M.Arch/ M.Tech

  • The candidate should have a valid GATE score
  • Applicants also need to have a relevant bachelor’s degree i.e. BE/ B.Tech/ B.Arch with at least 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST/Cat-I candidates from Karnataka).
  • Those candidates who have a work experience of more than 3 years in an organization located within 40 km of the institute can apply for part-time M.Arch/ M.Tech/ M.E. However, such candidates should also have a relevant bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks.

Karnataka PGCET 2023 Application Form

The authorities will accept the Karnataka PGCET 2023 application form in online mode only. Interested candidates have to visit the official website in order to access the application form.

  • The first step of the application process is to register on the official website.
  • In the registration process, candidates have to provide their basic details like Name, address, email address, phone number, etc.
  • After registration, aspirants will be able to access the main application form. In the application form, candidates are required to fill their required educational, personal, and contact details.
  • In the next step, candidates have to upload the scanned copies of their passport size photograph, signature, and left-hand thumb impression in the application form.
  • Candidates should ensure that they fill all the details correctly because incomplete/ incorrect details will be thoroughly rejected.
  • Next, applicants have to pay the necessary application fee.
  • It is advised to keep a copy of the application form submitted safe for future requirements.

Application Fee

The application fees for the candidates of different candidates are as follows.

  • General/ OBC candidates: Rs. 650/-
  • SC/ ST candidates: Rs. 500/-

Mode of payment: The application fee should be paid offline using the bank challan. The bank challan can be downloaded for the same from the official website.

Karnataka PGCET 2023 Admit Card

  • Once the application form submission process gets over, authorities will make the admit cards available through the official website.
  • In order to download the admit card, applicants have to provide their registration number.
  • An admit card consist of the important information like exam date, timing, and venue.
  • It is mandatory for all the candidates to carry a hard copy of the downloaded admit card at the examination center.
  • Along with an admit card, applicants should also carry a copy of the photo ID proof.

Karnataka PGCET 2023 Result

  • Aspirants who will appear for the exam will be able to check their result online through the official website.
  • To check the result, candidates have to enter their roll numbers.
  • Along with the result, authorities will also release merit lists for various courses.
  • Please note that the reservation policy of the Karnataka state will be applicable at the time of merit list creation.
  • Candidates getting their names in the merit list will be allowed to take part in the counselling process.

Counselling

  • In order to finalize their admission, candidates have to participate in the counselling process.
  • The counselling process will take in online mode only.
  • During the counselling process, candidates have to enter their choice of college and course as per their preference.
  • The seats will be allotted solely based on the merit list and choice entered by the candidates.
  • In case a candidate is not happy with the allotted seat then he/ she can participate in the subsequent round of counselling.
